In this video, I go over "Whats in my pack?". If you read Self Reliance Illustrated Magazine, then you know that there is usually an article written by someone going over the contents of their packs. I love seeing what other people carry in their packs, so I thought I would make a video going over one of mine.
The pack is a Spec Ops Brand Soliders Optimized Butt Pack. Although, I have chosen not to use it as a Butt Pack on LBE gear, I show a different way to carry the pack and the contents.
This pack makes a great overnight to 2 day pack, as its lightweight and still can carry everything needed with room to spare.
Pack Dimensions: (from Spec Ops Brand Website)
11" high, 13.5" wide x 5" thick.
Main Compartment:
10.5" high x 10" wide x 5" thick @ 525 cubic inches.
Side Pockets - 2 ea:
9" high x 5" wide x 2.5" thick @ 112.5 cubic inches.
Total Capacity:
750 cubic inches.

If you replace the space blanket don't throw it away. I put stuff like that in sealable used food grade 5 gallon whey protein buckets and hide them in the woods. I figure on the odd chance someone gets stuck they will love that bucket, especially since I always include a map, lighter, and a short note that this is a sol bucket for travelers in need.

Awesome kit well organized think about adding a Sawyer mini water filter after I added mine ive only used it once on a long day hike when I ran out of water but so happy I had it drank out of a pretty gross pond with no bad taste. Just my 2 cents brotha👊

I have used two of these bags on my bicycle as panniers for 7 years and they have held up very well. As for cubic inches of space 930, I just looked it up. The side pockets will hold a one quart GI canteen also. Its a very good bag. I have had very good luck with mine.

Nice set up and great video but was wondering about extra clothing in a ranger roll just in case of getting wet say slipping in a creek or something will it hold that also?
@Skills2survive

Spoiler! You managed to stuff so much gear in that butt pack! I couldn't help myself at the end, after you had pulled out all that stuff and I saw that full MRE come out I yelled "GET OUT OF HERE!!!" Heheh! Good job sir!

I like the video. Thanks for sharing. The bag holds a ton of stuff. I also like the stuff you carry in your butt pack /emergency bag. I learned a lot from just watching this and seeing what you carry. I carry some of the same items in my old ALICE LBE / Pistol Belt with harness setup. In fact, I took a nap just today inside my USGI poncho and woobie liner. I am curious about your mini mag conversion to LED lights you mentioned. What is that? How do you like the BCB canteen and cup? I bought a BCB multi fuel stove that fits over the bottom of a military style canteen cup a couple months ago and haven't had the chance to use it yet. How do you like yours? Work out OK? Held up OK? Thanks again for the video. It's almost 7 years old but I'd love to hear back from you and know how well some of your gear has held up over time and use. Thanks Man! Have a great day and keep on hiking!

The original mag lights had standard halogen bulbs. Then the LED bulbs started coming out that are much brighter. Mag light offered a conversion kit to change out the original bulb for the brighter LED. So that is the conversion. The BCB Crusader is an awesome piece of kit. I still use it all the time and have never had any problems. Definitely recommend it.. Thanks for watching 👍 👍😁

Are those clips for stating it to a belt available on the market? What are they called? And do the last longer than alice clips? Because I have been told that normal Alice clips break easy. Great video, where did you get that pack?
@Skills2survive
@Skills2survive 12 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are for attaching to a belt. Those are a type of "malice clip". I got those particular ones off one of my knife sheaths. Alice clips work also, however the newer molle attachment clips and such work better imo. Check the description box below the video for the link to the pack. It came from specopsbrand (dot) com.
