Good job on the beans. That will be some good eatin'. I make charro beans fairly often, but I haven't tried them with the hot dogs.

I know some people use hotdogs and some use sausage. I think both work well.

My favorite charro beans are from tacos el regio in San Antonio. Fully loaded with carne Asada, al pastor, wieners, and they are spicy as hell too!

Brother James you should make a bowl of fideo loco which is charro beans, fideo and picadillo there’s a place in San Antonio called Blanco Cafe that has it on the menu and brother is it good
@CentralTexasGrilling6 жыл бұрын
There's a place by my house that makes the same thing and it's soooo good.

Oh yea man I used to go in and get a large bowl and two picadillo tacos but now I can barely finish the bowl alone lol losing my touch

Those beans looked delicious, but just a suggestion maybe try some chicken broth in place of some of the water . That’s how I do mine and to me it gives the beans a little richer flavor.
@CentralTexasGrilling6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion. I can see chicken broth adding flavor.

looks good but .. the recipe here in texas i learned when i was young usually calls for sausage,.. instead of hot dogs .. But there is this restaurant here .. called Patrons .. and Omg i have never had such awesome tasting beans in my life .. i could just go there to order beans LOL I wish I knew their magical ingredient ..
@CentralTexasGrilling6 жыл бұрын
I've never tried sausage but I hear a lot of people do. I believe the Hotdogs come more from the Mexican recipe side of this dish. Thanks for stopping by.

Hot dogs in charro beans? Dats a new one on me! Lol! Looked great though. I make mine the same way but I use Its Incredible as my salt and pepper. I just made some this past Sunday and they were amazing, didn't use chorizo and forgot to add a little beer. I cooked some years ago and brother they were the best beans I have ever had and I lost the recipe, I could have charged people $15.00 per bowl and they would have paid it. But oh well I don't remember what I did. I vote for Mexican cornbread with dem beans. Throw away the salt and pepper and use your favorite seasoning in the world in its place. Lol! It's Incredible is for everythang! Lol!
