"I've opened more bottles than I ever have my bible. This dirt road communion sure won't lead me to revival. Between the black label and the letters in red, I've felt what living is and what it's like to live dead. I've taken a ride in the devils cadillac, I've been so high thought I wasn't coming back. And just when I think I'm too far gone, ringing in my head is the 23rd psalm. I seen the light, I seen the darkness, only God knows where my heart is. I've got my strength and Lord knows I got my weakness, I'm lost somewhere between jack daniels and Jesus." I fucking love this forever !!

I have been on and off rock bottom for more than 4 years and still feel the emotional toll on me just wanting to give. But everyday I have hope saying that the next day will be better than the last no matter how hard. Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Right now I'm in a place where I'm in the month of my brothers death it hurts everytime I see his grave sometimes I think I'm better off in the ground with him because y would god save me but not him but after listening to this several times I realized that we all have our days to remember y god put us here in this world and even though my brother is in his grave ik I will see him someday and there are days when I have cried and gone without sleep because I wish I was there with him but we all can't choose what we are made into a few nights ago I asked god y he put me here and it hurt to even ask because I hate being an only child and after praying a few nights I couldn't find answer but if there is one thing that god made me realize is that my brother always be by my side so thank u Jesus for everything thank u for helping me and one morething we all need to remember is that it's not about money or anything else like that it's about the man upstairs that we thank every day for putting us here our lord and savor Jesus Christ thank you Jesus.

I have never been a fan of the type of country that Chase Rice usually puts out, but damn. You had me at the 23rd psalm line. Psalms 23:4 will always guide me even when my whiskey hazed eyes tend to stray. This is the kind of song that will never go stale and always carry a heavy message. Thank you.

I grew up with alcoholics and consequently became one myself in the 1972 Jesus Christ changed my life and I followed him Faithfully for 7 years or more and somewhere along the way I slid back into the old ways. I was drinking snorting cocaine smoking pot whatever I could do to get high and then in 1999 I was drunk and wrecked my truck. Totaled it but I survived waking up in jail not even knowing what county I was in thanks to Tanqueray gin. I now have Jesus back in my life again and wouldn't trade that life for anything. Just didn't realize how easy it was to slide back into the old way and so now I'm guarding myself salvation. Not that I think I ever lost it before but I did go to a very dark place that I don't want to go back to again. I am praying for you right now Chase and if you don't know Jesus Christ I hope you'll take a moment to invite him into your heart. They will change you more than guitar. By the way I'm a guitar player as well. The guitar change my life but not like Jesus did.

I'm only 18, but I have been through a lot. I started drinking whiskey, then smoking, and then chewing tobacco. I never really knew who God was. I wasn't raised in any type of church. But now I'm alcoholic free, and smoking. But I still have a really hard time with chewing. Haven't done it for a while, but makes me wanna go to it when I get stuck in hard situations. But now I know Jesus Christ and God are true people. I just converted to the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, and without the church in my life who knows where I'd be.

God is love. We all fall short and sin. Love is just and merciful. Because God is loving He must judge sin, we all stand judged. Because God is merciful He provided a way out from under the weight of the law and for us to be regenerated. If we trust Jesus shed His sinless blood, died and rose from the grave He forgives us of our sins and gives us a new heart that wants to look God as our Father genuinely and delight in Him, freeing us from being slaves to sin. The rest is our mind catching up with that reality and taking hold of His teaching and truth until He returns, or we die. We aren't saved or kept saved by obedience. We can only be lost through unbelief (trusting in our own righteousness, to be or remain saved) or blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (attributing clear works of God, healing/deliverance, to demons and Satan). Commandments aren't have to's, they are what we do because we actually want God's direction and It's what fulfills us. You can't be born again without the desire to honor God. (Works based salvation "Christians" and "lawless Christians" are both wrong.) We love because God first loved us. Jesus is God, the Son, "the first and the last", God along with God the Father "the Lord God", this title is mentioned with being tied to God in Isaiah 44:6-8, and that same is sent along with the Lord God's Spirit in Isaiah 48:11-16. Jesus further claims this title also in Revelation 1:8-17. Leave catholicism/orthodox/protestant churches that preach strife, or inform them.

Thank You and God Bless you, Chase for a real true to life song about sinning and redemption.Almost everybody can relate to getting off the Path Jesus had chosen for us and had to fight their own demons to get back where they belong. The honesty is a fresh breath of air. instead of pretending that you can't be led astray you own the good and the bad. This is 1 of my favorite songs. You're an awesome singer.

This song pulled me through losing my grandfather when I was 14. Now I'm almost 17 and I get to ride around in his truck he gave me. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish he was here with me

I hadn't heard of Mr Rice, will be seeing him in concert with my kids this weekend, so this is first of his songs I've heard. Looking fwd to seeing Kenny too, but after hearing this, as the Momma Bear of the group still living between, this singer is my main attraction to this concert. Beautiful song. Thanks for other comments helping me know more of him. I'll hear Tequila now if on KZbin. Already love his voice.

God i do understand this song. Certain breakups, certain losses of people I love, different parts of what i grew up in, amd even just being myself, I've opened more bottles than i have my Bible, and I sure know what it feels like to hit rock bottom.

One thing about rock bottom, there is nowhere to go but up. Been struggling with my demons for what feels like forever, but it's only been two years. Went two months sober but then fell back into the same rut, but worse. This song reminds me to just keep fighting
