I had originally thought they were named after Celtic Tribes of the British Isles- Ordovis after the Ordovices and Siluria after the Silures. But Devonia seems to have ruined that (the closest is Dumnonii), and it seems the Crucible Knights were named for periods after all.

"Faith builds" This is a strength weapon with a faith requirement. Ordovis GS scales much better with faith if you're looking for a caster weapon that punishes people closing the gap.

@@leonardo9259 Flaming strike scales with strength and is absolutely useless now with the nerf making it deal low poise damage. Goldbreaker and taker's flames are an easy backstab punish. Out of all of those tornado and catch flame are the only viable ones and they aren't a weapon like OP mentioned.

fun fact: with nanaya's torch in the main hand any smithscript weapons in the off hand that get thrown will have an applied frenzy effect. this can happen with other buffed things as well so st. trinas torch could work as well.

It sucks that the weapon art is so much worse than the ordovis's version for pve. It does a bit more damage, but takes twice as long to charge, and actually does substantially LESS stance damage. Somehow.

Poise is definitely necessary. My favorite poise monster is the martial wraps charged palm strike. It's so fun doing the martial arts

Someone is not considering that it does significantly more damage in a larger area per FP spent. Also you can weave in regular attacks if stance breaking is what you're after, I'll tell you it's much easier to achieve than with a dinky "great"sword in the DLC lol

Funnily enough they got buffed by this DLC, not by much since the moveset still sucks but at least now you can't just keep mashing L1 to trade and win against them. Proper setups are finally able to do 50-66% of even 2000+ HP with much harder to punish attacks. Writing this reply gave me an idea, time to put RKR on my Giant-crusher and vigor-check some fools with running R2s.

I’ve just watched a video about the hitboxes on duelling shields. My god it’s BROKEN. Even simple R1s (two handed) guard while you attack, with pierce damage too! And that’s before going into the L1>R1 combo. Plus the amount of stamina damage you take is tiny! Can’t wait to see you decimate squads with it!

No it doesn't, this weapon does more damage and has bigger reach with its vortex meanwhile Ordovis charges up faster and does higher stance damage. Of course greatswords are a better weapon class but if we're judging it as a pure ash of war stick then Devonia wins out DPFP-wise.
