My latest build has been Captain Marika, with the main damage being the Smithscript Shield. It has a delay before quickly flying at the enemy with great tracking, costs only 3fp and a little stam, and can be buffed with the smithing talisman and shard of Alexander. I run it in left hand with Danes footwork in the right in case someone’s too close, buffing it more with things like howl of shabriri/golden vow etc. It has deceptive range too, and can easily roll catch people who try to spam roll to dodge it. I’ve also seen it easily hit bosses for anywhere from 1k-3k per throw consistently. You also get the leeway of it being super light, so I can rock heavy armor and bull goat talisman and sit at like 80poise most of the time lol

I haven’t gotten to play Elden Ring DLC yet, unfortunately :( However, from only watching Chase’s videos it looks like the new Ashes Of War are ridiculously broken. All the ones he’s had a video on look like 3-5 times better than the most OP of the original game 😂 I don’t know if I’m a fan of the game just becoming press L2 for insta kill 😂😂. It was a little bit much for me in the base game, this looks like overkill lol. I really hope the next FromSoft Soul-like game goes a little more back to its roots with more skill and less press button for insta kill

Honnestly, with your dlc showcases so far (exception for the great katanas one), it's only been one shot builds focused on using the ash of war and that's kinda far from the content you used to make. I feel like the fights are not rly fun to watch anymore. I don't really pvp so idc about the whole "but it will push a certain type of meta if content creators keep showing them" but I like watching duels and fights and those last vids, yeah nah, 0 tension during the viewing. I play this build on PVE as Bloody Berserk, instead of Bull-Goat and Erdtree talismans i use Godskin Swaddling and Lord of Blood, for great rune i use Malenia's because when I take damage while using Ashe, I will regain my lost hp, for offhand i have Serpent-God's Curved Sword for heal on kill, Bloodsucking Cracked Tear and Thorny Cracked Tear for mixed bottle. Before the boss fight i buff with Golden Vow, Flame Grant me Strength and Blessing's Boon for some hp regen to negate 1%hp/s lost from Bloodsucking Cracked Tear ( I still lose about 11hp/s). The build highly favors an aggressive play style and pushing forward. For Fashion instead of Rakshasa Helm i have Pelt of Ralva, its just look more like Viking :D

2166 dmg against BilliBob with just the first half of the AoW. Then again, it's a spinning, lightning-crackling Dragonslayer blade drilling into your torso at about 120 rpm, so I'd say it seems okay.

Chase I know this weapon isn't your usual style, but out of every weapon in the DLC my favorite by far has been the Smithscript Daggers. Everyone looks at the damage from a single attack and relegates the Daggers to junk tier, but they actually have really solid DPS if you can stand still to spam R1 and have them infused with Elemental Damage (especially Sacred or Flame Art, but that might be because of bugged Scaling). But if you can't stand still they shine even brighter, because they are GODLY at Spacing. Basically, if you use the Daggers well and make heavy use of the Jumping+R2 and Feinting-Backstep-R2 then opponents can't lay a single finger on you. The chip damage seems meh since people can just heal, but remember how I said they do great damage if you can stand still and spam R1? Well that makes them excel at killing low-health people trying to Flask/Heal. I've tried most of the weapons/Ashes/Spells so far and nothing has given me as much success and been more useful than those quaint little Daggers; even exploiting the Lightning Perfume wasn't as effective for me as the Daggers since the Perfume essentially requires being in melee-range with an unlocked Camera, which is just a *smidge* dangerous lol. Bonus that since they Scale with any stat it means they can work with any Build too. They're basically just a better version of Paired-Whips, and Whips were already pretty decent. The Daggers usually aren't my main weapon, because they aren't very efficient when I can afford to Trade, but they VERY quickly have become my go-to Endure-stick that replaced my usual Misercorde or Whip, and when someone does something scary nothing feels safer than the scribble-dagger. I want to find a Swift Slash spammer so I can see if the Daggers can punish it, I think the natural Spacing of the Daggers combined with the jumping-R2 would actually be able to fight against the Swifty-scourge.

I accidentally applied “Impaling thrust” to sword lance and want spinning gravity thrust back. Impaling thrust no longer shows up in the ash of war menu so I can’t put it on something else or select undo enhancement. I also have a no skill ash of war but that isn’t an option when I click ash of war for sword lance. This skill is so slow and telegraphed, getting hit by it deserves a slow clap, like what are they expecting to happen if they tried rolling around or trading into the giant rapidly spinning lightning vortex? It's just a bit of common sense really, if the skill has massive theatrics and is really slow on the startup, it's going to hurt a lot if it hits you.
