I know this is late, but the 8/18 chase was the BEST photogenic storms I’ve seen. Here in the eastern Toledo strip, there was a massive shelf with some hail and very strong wind gusts.

I stayed up late to watch this. Keep it up man, you're bound to catch a big tornado show soon! MI is brutal for chasing/spotting.

Thanks for watching! I’ve seen my fair share of tornadoes, but it was only last year that I started documenting them to share with everyone online. I have some really zoomed in, grainy shots of the Mangum EF-3 from 5/20, but yeah, this year was a lot of swinging and missing on that front. Not that I’m wishing for tornadoes (at least not in populated areas), but maybe 2020 will offer some nice photogenic ones.

Any chance you can look into setting up a patreon or something so we can all get you out to see better storms? Great content and editing. Hope to you see you back out chasing storms.

Hey! Thanks for the thought. I actually do make trips out to the plains, but I didn’t start sharing with the Internet until last year. Maybe one of these days I’ll release some “best of” footage from years past. As for this year, with the wonky spring patterns and moisture limitations, I haven’t been west of the Mississippi... yet. The day I regret missing so far this year was April 22, but my state was under a travel ban due to COVID-19, and having a state-issued medical license, I really didn’t want to test the boundaries and risk losing it. But glass half full, here’s to hoping moisture returns to the northern plains and Midwest, and that the pattern gets out of its funk for all those late-season states!
