In todays video I chase after my first striped bass. This was something new to me because I have never fished for striped bass before. So if you have any tips on how to catch one please let me know. Great video! Learning is key, the only time i caught a huge one was during flood conditions, in marrowbone creek, it was 40lb+ they live in high current! thanks for sharing!! they fixing to be running. For fall!!

I've only landed a few on accident skipjack fishing below the dam fishing a smaller Foley spoon fast with 1/2-1oz of weight. I need to go target them specifically and figure them out. I'm wanting to land a big striped bass on the kayak! lol

That would be insane to land it on the kayak! I am just trying to catch one and figure out how ha

Fish with a jighead and a zoom fluke or any other soft jerk. The color white or pearl works great. And yes stripers can still see white in stain waters or at night. Bounce close to the bottom or drift. Generally speaking if there's low current fish closer to the dam. The second spot you went to I would've fished and casted as close as I can to where the water was flowing out. The first spot you were too far from the dam with the low current. The more experience you have fishing currents the better you'll be off making those decisions.

How heavy of a jighead do you suggest? Also I appreciate all of the tips! This type of fishing is new to me. I will be trying all of this hopefully this weekend! I am determined to catch one.
