On Sunday, October 3, 2020, I chased CN 546 up to Squamish. Come along for the ride and enjoy this "rare" move. Camera - Canon Rebel SL2 Scanner - Uniden BC75XLT

The voice-over work is very effective. I appreciate the information in the voice-overs, which allowed me to better understand the video scenes.

Was there a patrol vehicle ahead of the train? How come they were no cars? Who was the Conductor? Thank you for the upload. Interesting video.
@victorstrains3 жыл бұрын
They did send a high railer up ahead of the train. There were no cars on the way up because no cars needed to be dropped of at the docks. They were just grabbing cars from the docks and bringing them back down to vancouver. I don't know who the conductor was. I spoke with him once that day, and that was just him asking not to be filmed. I hope that answers your questions well enough, and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.

@@victorstrains Thank you. Did they get rid of the 571 train from Squamish to PG? From 2007 to 2017, I worked that SUB for CN.
@victorstrains3 жыл бұрын
@@jcj2007 You are correct. 571 is technically not running as of now, so that means the line from Squamish to Williams Lake sees very little action. There is only the occasional train to pick up or store cars in sidings. That train will usually carry 571's number but does not do its normal job.

Awesome video! Great angles. I’m going to try and follow it sometime this week. What time did it leave North Vancouver?
@victorstrains3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It left North Van at exactly 1:56 pm, so maybe arrive around 1 to 1:30pm so you can prepare and watch them build their train.
@ridemtbbc94092 жыл бұрын
hey what are the radio frequencies for the squamish sub that you use?
@Theconductor6073 жыл бұрын
Do you know what time this train departs North Van to Squamish? Awesome video!
@victorstrains3 жыл бұрын
They usually depart around early afternoon. About 1 to 2 pm. If you’re going to go see it though, I would recommend arriving around 12 or so, maybe a bit later, so you can watch them build their train, and so you don’t miss them leave.

Great to know, thank you! How about the return trip, is it later at night?
@victorstrains3 жыл бұрын
@@Theconductor607 I wouldn’t think that it would return in the night every trip. I would say more like mid to late evening. I just happened to see him return at night because he had to bring that extra power into the Squamish yard, and then get a work truck back to the docks. That’s usually something they don’t do.
