My dad used to do all the marketing and promotional films for upright. Right up until they went out of business. I remember playing with sissor lifts when i was a kid. They built every one of them in oakland california.

Check your hydraulic oil with it extended all the way up, you might be out (from filling the cylinders) so the jib doesn't have enough to move

I work on these for a living.. genie is the WORST to work on. JLG is so much neater and more thought out, easier to troubleshoot and diagnose.. My hat off to you Rich for all the nice work on this one

Heat gun and make it bubble up over the back of the pump for the clearance you need, I ran one of those when we did the siding on my house and trimmed the trees along the north fence and put up my antenna on the south side of the house.

The problem with hooking up the starter cut to the oil pressure sensor is when your cranking when it’s cold and she doesn’t quite want to fire she will build pressure and kill the starter on you

That happened on a job site I was on, with another company. They were swinging an I beam in over the motor and somehow it came loose and catapulted two guys to their death. Big safety meeting the next day with our company

@@bigunone manlifts arent something to mess around with, i work for a major rental company and we have policies about customers not using harnesses that force us to shut job sites down. people dont realize that a foot drop on the back wheels will send operators flying, even in transport mode

Yep, they can move off-road, but normally not at extension... as any little movement at the base gets multiplied on the arm.

@@wobblysauce had a genie that the out of transport switch was stuck in transport mode, at 60 feet out it would drive at full speed. Customer called in for a hydraulic leak, and I asked them if they knew it was going full speed elevated they said yeah, and it was fine it kept them awake

I wish I could find plywood to finish my shed thats not 80 dollars a sheet. Finding an abandoned man lift would certainly be nice too.

That sounds excessive ! mind you I live in the UK, but the first price I came across is structural hardwood throughout 3/4” £23.02 Shuttering ply, all softwood 3/4” £ 26.36 these include taxes !

@@teddekkerfan92 Unfortunately where I live is considered new york... I'm 15 minutes from Canaderp, the country farms and hills part of ny. We're stuck with a crazy greedy nutso governor who is affiliated with the left... Sht you not, a 2x4x8 is 11 dollar. A sheet of exterior grade 3/4 plywood is 82 dollars... Its insane... I could have sworn they made that illegal a long time ago.

Reposition the hinges to give clearance to the pump. Just move the hood away from the pump by shifting the hinges a bit and maybe put in a small spacer.

I don't think you needed a lift to change that lite in the begining but you have a lift now . Try knocking a huge hole in your kitchen wall so you can use it to get things on the top shelf of your cabinets . TOTAL OVERKILL IS THE WAY TO GO!!!

This must be one of the only upright man lifts that still works. I work for United Rentals and we’ve had a customers 80’ Upright that he’s tried to get our techs to fix. Thing caught fire in our yard after it had sat for over 6 months. Can’t find parts anymore. The owner is finally jimmying it to bring the axles in so we can load it on our trailer and haul it away to his place. Awesome you got this unit working minty though.

Big thing to check is the basket swivel, they like to get stuck at 80 odd degrees when the piston in the motor bypasses

JIBs on Z lifts like that are limited when you are extended so far. The base isnt very wide so they dont want you levering too far out there. Maybe not but i have been on lifts that limit jib movement

the jib should work at any height, basket rotate should work at all times also, unless that company designed it to not, i dont know of any reason they would since all other manufactures i have worked on allow both of those functions to always work. your rotater might be bad for the platform rotate. jibs usualy wont have a sensor for up but will usualy have a sensor for max down

At that rub spot glue a sheet of steel or a piece of sidewall from a tire to stop it from rubbing a hole in the fiberglass.

Most scissor lifts don't have hub freewheel pins like that. Rough terrain boom lifts all do though. k

Do the wheels extend outfrom the dolly? Some of them go in and out to be able to load on a flatbed and make it more stable since its 4x4 and meant for rougher sites

Excellent! But the way you hooked the starter with oil pressure sensor... What about in cold weather, when you need to crank the motor more for it to start up, and when it builds up the oils pressure, the starter switch disconnects?

If a CCV has a catch can I would always want it going back to the turbo intake its when they dont have a catch can that I say late her go to the clouds lol

I LOVE your work and have always LOVED your channel! The last couple videos I have watched have had an excessive amount of ads. Maybe that is the intention, maybe you didn’t know. I will continue to try to watch but it makes it so hard to focus.

Can you provide details on the electronic throttle control you have on order please? I have a forklift I would like to rig up to throttle up rather than having to manually pump the pedal

One mechanic at a crane/lift-rental shop I used to work at said man-lifts were the worst type of equipment he had ever worked on. There's so much electronic and hydraulic shit crammed into those things that it's bound to drive one to insanity lol. For reference, they use JLG and Genie lifts exclusively. Those things don't *have* Gremlins. They *are* Gremlins lol.
