Just a mom living epic adventures vicariously through these stories. My 14 year old daughter just asked if I want to visit the Superstitions someday. Of course! But not to hunt for a lost mine. I want to come to your get togethers and listen to the stories first hand, by campfire, on site. That's my bucket list.

Love Halloween. Haven't had any trick or treaters around here for years. But this is my second year in my new house and I have carved three jack-o-lanterns. They will be lit up October 30th and 31st.

Are you gonna do any ghost legends from the Superstitions for Halloween? I bet there's some creepy ass tales from those mountains. (EDIT): My Great, Great Grandpa Jarvi at an elderly age, went up and kissed my Great Great Grandma one day and said to her, "It's time for me to go." He then walked out of the house and went out into the woods, where he was later found passed away sitting against his favorite tree. Maybe the Ruth just knew it was his time and went into the mountains with his friends, all knowing it was for the last time. That'd be a very personal thing to do between friends and nobody else's business. My opinion, of course.

If East Boulder was named Willow Canyon, then the Willow Spring from Ruth era should be the Laurel Springs from East Boulder, which is close to the junction of LD trail with the canyon.
@legendofthesuperstitionmou9693 жыл бұрын
No, Willow canyon is peralta canyon, but I still agree with your point.
@mariosmark31073 жыл бұрын
@@legendofthesuperstitionmou969 Yes, are separated by Fremont Saddle. But don't forget in Ruth era was named Fremont Pass, mention which could point to the same canyon with a high passing trough.

Wayne was there a 44 caliber hole in the skull that was found I don't remember how far away from his body but not attached to the skeleton. Most people over come by water exhaustion does not cause the head to detach? Fact or fiction?
@legendofthesuperstitionmou9693 жыл бұрын
There was no bullet holes in the skull according to the medical examiner. That’s why it was not ruled a homicide. The archeologist who took possession of the skull made that assessment. The bones were strewn all down the hill, which is how they found his personal effects.
@richardjohnson43733 жыл бұрын
@@legendofthesuperstitionmou969 what about that picture that was supposedly taken at the time where that cowboy has what they say was his skull at his feet it clearly has a hole I think right temple? You would know that book that was trying to say that one ranch hand who helped him pack in was the one who supposedly shot him what is that books name? It is like the Kennedy assassination I have read so many that the info starts to run together.
@legendofthesuperstitionmou9693 жыл бұрын
@@richardjohnson4373 an animal had carried it there. It had teeth marks all over it. There was no investigation into Adolph Ruth’s death. That is all made up. Certain “ experts” said they threw away the file years back. They never throw out an unsolved homicide file. There are plenty of pictures and articles. Animals spread his remains over a large area. The skull had two very large holes, both protruding inward. There were no extruding holes. Just the truth is not a great story. Old man went into the mountains. Old man hiked a short distance. Old man died from natural causes. Happens every year
@MrRugercat452 жыл бұрын
Once the animals get to a body and they and the insects eat the connective tissues of the neck and head the skull can easily detach from the body. Also animals can move the head trying to save it for a later snack, such as coyotes. The bullet hole in the head if there was one, is harder to explain. Last I checked coyotes don’t carry firearms per se and if they did, I don’t think they are capable of pulling a trigger.
@MrRugercat452 жыл бұрын
can I ask you where you got the information on Ruth’s autopsy and about the lack of a bullet wound? Wow. I read in Gentry’s book that there was a bullet hole and they had someone in mind who possibly was guilty, kind of implying the cowboys who took him out there were guilty. Among other things in the book. I wish I had a chance to talk to you and Frank and people like that, the ones who have been there for years. Fascinating stuff Wayne, thanks so much for sharing this information.
