It was fun to see so many different versions of basically the same thing. The shape of some is different and there are different toppings or icings but so many similarities. I think the people of the world are like that as well. We all have the same basic form with different sprinkles of culture on top and it all turns out so deliciously.

In the Middle East, christians celebrate easter by making cookies called ma’amoul . The dough is made with semolina stuffed with dates, walnuts or pistachios, then pressed into small carved wooden moulds, baked and dusted with icing sugar. Easter in the middle east is a bigger affair than Christmas. Children would wear new clothes, the streets will be filled with beautiful smells of cooking heavy meaty meals and the baking of the ma’amoul, the churches will put a microphone out so every one can listen to the easter mass. I remember when i was a child i used to go to church with my christian friend, and i used to cry my eyes out on the stories and the songs describing the christ suffering. After the church muslim families will visit their christian neighbours to congratulate them and bringing them chocolates and sweets. Christians will send their muslim neighbours plates full of their ma’amoul. Those were the days, the very peaceful happy days.

Love how you do this and allow all of your guests to have something made from their own home country! The kitchen must have had the best aroma! So spicy and would love to have been there to help or just catch some of the aroma! Often the Pascha bread, etc and very specially made Ukrainian painted eggs, and other foods to be eaten on Easter, are placed in a basket by the families and taken to the Eastern Orthodox *catholic/universal* church and are blessed by a Priest the Saturday night during the Vigil service. They place a candle in each one, while service is going on and (in a separate area) and say a blessing.* So the families have blessed food to eat for their Easter! *Pascha* It is great to learn about all the various cultures and foods. It makes it great fun and we can learn to try them as well/ We can look up the recipes online later. I cannot always write it down quick enough while we have the vlog on, but can check it out later. Great vlog, TY!

The Ukrainian bread is an egg shape, which is perfect!!! Ukrainian decorated eggs are epic! The citrus taste sounds delicious and maybe similar to Italian Pantelone. They Dutch Almond/Fruit one looks like an amazing Bread/Dessert....I love Italian Almond Cakes!!! The Argentinian bread/cake looks delicious, also. And I would love to try Hot Cross Buns since you don't see them around in the U.S. Actually, I've never had any of the ones you all baked. My German-Ukranian Grandmother used to make homemade carmel rolls with the carmel in the bottom of the pan and yeast dough rolled into long rolls. They were delicious 😋 and are one of my favorite memories. She, also, made a dish called Kuchen which was yeast bread in a pie topped with cream and peaches. It was amazing! I would love to see more of international meals! It would be a great series to feature maybe monthly and could be put in a Playlist.

I'm guessing we don't have a standard type because we are a country of immigrants, so people make what was traditional for them (for me that's Polish and Irish mainly and I grew up eating a lot of those traditional foods in RI) or if you live in an area with a large population of a certain ethnicity you could buy what would be traditional. Just my guess.
