Adrian... My husband built an addition to the FRONT of the double car garage. Back garage is his shop, front garage is for two cars. Storage is on shelves along the wall and also a little in attic pull down stairs above the cars.

Very nice Beth, thank you for the tour. The entrance is fabulous. It takes a while to get settled in, I'm actually quite impressed that there aren't more boxes kicking about. Is there no attic access for storage? I can understand why your parents aren't in a hurry to remodel the kitchen after living with a kitchen that was under construction at the Chateau and then the tiny kitchen at the cottage.. this kitchen although not perfect is so much better. It will take time to figure out what works and what doesn't. The house is beautiful and looking very comfortable and inviting, well done so far!! Missed seeing your Mum though... where is the Lady in White? out shopping for that sports car? 😜

Does this house have a dry basement?? A lot of the items in the garage could be stored down there. Maybe then there's room for Carole's sports car would fit on one side and Adrian's much needed workbench and tools could fit on the other side!!

A beautiful light airy home, congratulations. WELCOME HOME... i agree with Carole that wall paper hideous. Strange angle of home, but i dont live in that country. Perhaps do a floating bedside shelf or shelfs and maybe be able to fit... 😊 and definitely take that wall away and have a decent island to place food on if needed a few stalls under and the table.😅

What a gorgeous house, I love it. Having a separate laundry is fabulous with access to an outside clothes line if possible another bonus. Lovely spacious light airy rooms upstairs also. I love the grounds. I can see why your mom wants to change the kitchen family eating space dining room. I would move the door from the kitchen down to line up with the dining room door so its not the view from the front door and better serve the dining room. I like your moms idea of a big opening into the breakfast area. Is there a third oven in the laundry? Can the wardrobe and the bed be flipped in your parents bedroom to get two night stands? I noticed the birds theme when you got to Matts room with the peacocks.

I looked at the kitchen, over and over. I think I figured out how to fix it. The door to the kitchen from the foyer should be closed off, a door should be cut facing the dining room, then the breakfast room can be used as an office. No need to move the oven, or oven wall. A swinging door was used in my mother’s house, that would be a good choice.

I know how good it feels to get past the chaos stage of moving - congratulations! The spaces are great, and I know once Carol has time to get her hands on it, it’s going to be stunning. What a lovely garden space, and almost a blank slate. I’m sure you’ll have fun there too. Where’s Carol’s pool going? Really beautiful house to be your home. Carol settle down keep all those ideas in your head for change. Christmas is coming you have had a mess somewhere in the chateau for years at Christmas.
