Full Restoration Tour: Château de la Ferté Escape From The Chateau…

A number of years -- more than 2 but less than 7 -- before you bought this magnificent lady, it was featured on a KZbin video for a channel that has since gone kaput. The couple looking at it, had money to burn but no DIY skills whatsoever. They brought a French contractor with them who kept shaking his head. Eventually, he told them that even with 1 million euros, she could not be fixed and would fall down around them. So, they looked elsewhere -- and kept looking and looking. When you started your channel, I said -- I know that property! I was enthralled with the structural repairs you completed and how you put the floors back like a puzzle. Your decorating was spot on. You should be proud that you saved this magnificent lady.

It is amazing how much you accomplished in a relatively short time. It is sad that you could not finish bringing her fully back to life. Ah! but what you did manage you did extremely well. The basic bones of the chateau are mostly done, floors made safe, walls cleaned and drywalled where needed. The grounds are cleared and its secrets uncovered. You can tell this was a labour of love. It would have been nice to have known you recouped what you put into her, but the necessity to sell fairly fast and the markets dictate the selling price. I look forward to seeing your next projects, because I am sure there will be more to come. I honestly cannot see you sitting back without a major project in the works. Happy hunting in England for that over looked gem to bring back life into it. Saskatchewan, Canada.

I can just see Adrian replacing all those floors and painstakingly laying the parquet floor. And I can see Carole cleaning walls and doors and removing paint and wallpaper before transforming the spaces completely. I just wish they both could have continued, but life gets in the way sometimes. Best wishes for everything you do from now on. Beth has been a star with the editing too of course. Well Adrian and Carole! That video put it in a nutshell! The amazing work you both did and attention to detail was fantastic. A labour of love truly 🫶. My only regret was not seeing your touch put into the coach house. As I do love that building. Be very proud of your accomplishments as I certainly am. Thank you Beth! For all your hard work editing the content. It’s not an easy thing to do. But you definitely did it very well. So now just awaiting the name change for the channel for your next project. I would say go and enjoy the summer back in the UK but! It’s been as poor as the one in France 🤣. Stay lovely and happy and enjoy the extra time you will have with the growing family.
