I just went to Aldi today in NC. I like because they don’t have all the additives that the other stores have and it’s less expensive.❤

One of my favorite vacation memories was driving around Oahu and stopping at small roadside restaurants or food trucks. We would order one meal, share it, and drive on to the next. We made our way around the island, in no hurry, enjoying the food, desserts, and scenery.

Their food and restaurant meals are way cheaper and better quality than we get here in Canada. As a foodie, I enjoy seeing what you get to eat in the restaurants. Glad you shared with us.

Great video with really good advice on the different customs of the regions you have visited. I am at an age where I can only travel in my arm chair. Thank you for taking me along. Deborah. North Carolina 😊😊❤❤

My brother has moved to Italy to live from Australia and when asked why he says its because the wine is cheaper than water. I always thought it was a bit of a joke and never asked why but now I get it, so thanks for the explanation about paying for water. In australia you don't pay tax or pay for water unless you want sparkling water, water is always on the table in large bottles.

Always love the videos! We try to travel inexpensively, too. Have you ever booked the student group at a convent or monastery? We stayed in a convent in Florence, Italy at a very reasonable price, including a light breakfast. It was just across a bridge from the old part of the city and an easy walk for sightseeing.

I thought it was hilarious with Leslie trying to be practical about the size of the steak and Rob saying no no that’s fine! 😂😂😂

Interesting hearing about the different meal options. My biggest concern about visiting EU is that I don’t drink wine nor coffee and I eat very low carb, so no pasta, potatoes, desserts or pastries. I have heard the bread in EU is much healthier than in the US. I mostly eat lots of meat and eggs.

German food looks best to me. Love watching you eat together and tell us about the food. You both look cold in the chateau.

All I could think of when I saw the size of that steak is Fred Flinstones car tipping over when he got his order 😂 I hope that didn’t tip your van! 🤭

I love Aldi's even though we don't have those quick options, they are definitely the cheapest in the US and best quality. I stock up on my fruit and veggies each month. Thanks for showing this video.

Due to health issues I eat plant based and I’m wondering if the French restaurants offer a plant based formula meal option?
@johnchamber85395 күн бұрын
Question - At the boulangerie, you showed a picture of the "Formule" under patisserie they display "(Max 2,60). What does the (Max 2,60) mean? I think is maximum 2, but not sure what does the 60 means? Thanks!
@chateaudelagrifferaie9535 күн бұрын
2.60 for the dessert, you can buy the more expensive dessert, but they will add the amount over 2.60 to the overall price

It’s not that there’s no tax, it’s that it’s included in the price. Also, I know you take your students to big cities - the prices you were showing are significantly more in cities like Paris. I was in France and Germany (Switzerland, but that’s next level price wise) in the last month and it would be a challenge to eat for under 25 euros in those places, even if you stay clear of even simple restaurants. If your students want to use their own funds to augment the budget you give them, are they allowed to do that?
