Sounds like allergies have hit the work crew, apple cider vinegar with local raw honey mix with water and it helps with the sinus drainage. That is going to be a very impressive get away for you when it's done. Good luck and hopefully better weather. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, the building wall looks so good! So neat now. Do you suppose they used the reeds for insulation? Great job, it looks great! Yes, it was amazing they did that for the livestock. Goodness, look at the peg they used in that beam! Beautiful tiles on the piggery. What a great guy Carson is. Like his sense of humor! Nice person, so glad he comes to help you all restore the Chateau.

Great team effort guys but I think maybe you should have widened the doorway as I think the door will be very Narrow once the frame is there and it will be very difficult getting stuff in and out, ok more work now but easier to do now than be kicking yourselves later. where the beam is rotten in the wall would it not just be easier to build a small stone pillar under it against the outside wall to support it, it would probably only need to extend 30cm into the room and you have plenty of stone around. It is a shame but I think it would be essential to lift the floor, lower it to give the desired head height, insulate and install a waterproof membrane then reinstate or tile the floor. Also insulate the roof well so you will need to design so that the old beams show below the ceiling. Great start really is amazing how much progress you can make with a few helping hands. Take care and have a great week, looking forward to the next instalment.. Robb Torremolinos Spain 😊😊😊😊

That would mean ruining the look of the original building. They’d like to keep it as original as possible. Plus they’d have to knock down the entire wall to widen the door. I’d just buy flat pack and build inside

Excellent work done already! I love the stone floors, and wonder if they might actually help reflect and retain heat in the winter? You spoke of insulating the floor - could you just build a wooden floor over top, or do you have to remove the cobbles? Your entire place has so much treasure in the outdoor "flooring" (outdoor kitchen area, perimeter sidewalk/drainage system), it's my favourite chateau (I watch about 10 channels)!!!

Hi how do we go about booking a stay , is there a web page .
I watched Stephanie Jarvis clean roof tiles. She didn’t pressure wash them but soaked and scrubbed. Would pressure washing damage them? Be careful. I’m sad to see you take down ancient walls and lift that old doorway. The low level of the door says its age. I understand why of course. Just sad.
@ChateauDeMontmagner2 жыл бұрын
The roof tiles still had integrity after being washed. Raising the lintel allows the space to be useable for us humans, the building still retains much of its original features, but like all ancient buildings it evolves and changes to allow it to remain. After all said and done this will be our home for sometime to come, so we must make it as comfortable and as practical as we can.
