Vivienne & Isabella of ‪@ChateauLove‬ escape their château for a girls' weekend to ‪@TheChateauDiaries‬ exquisite Château de Lalande in Central France. It exceeds all expectations! The lovely Lalanders couldn't be more wonderful and welcoming, and Stephanie is the truly the ultimate hostess. Simon holds down the fort at home, supervising the removal of several enormous dead trees. It wouldn't be ‪@ChateauLove‬ without "Cheese of the Week", and who better to guest host than the incomparable Stephanie Jarvis!
ABOUT US:
Hello! I’m Vivienne, the châtelaine of a small 19th century neo-Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley of France, which I share with my delightful (and wonderfully funny!) husband, Simon, our teenage daughter, pets, and -whenever possible- lovely friends and family.
This is not our first chateau! 20 years ago, we bought a much larger castle nearby, which we loved with all our hearts. However, nearly 18 years, many happy memories, countless renovations, and several small fortunes later, we made the very difficult, empty-nesting decision to downsize. With great luck and perseverance, we found our current petit château, which we are now decorating and updating with love, humour, comfort, and -of course- antiques and art!
We adore France and its many unique facets: its people, culture, landscapes, wine, food, art, and history. We also love being surrounded by châteaux, both public and private, which we can explore together! After 20 years here, we have learned many things about living in France, renovating châteaux, and appreciating the extraordinary riches surrounding us. We originally decided to make these videos as a way to share our lives with our loved ones worldwide during the pandemic lockdowns. However, we soon realised that many others are at home alone, and it is our privilege to open our home to you, our new friends. We hope you will join us on our adventures in this exceptional location, and we look forward to sharing a little Château Love!

Vivienne, you have a soft, appealing voice that acts as a calming balm in my life right now. I fell upon Stéphanie's channel quite by accident and her vlogs kept me going when I was laid off work, isolated by snow, wind storms and the renovation of her many rooms spurred me to start a project of my own. It will never be as grand as her rooms but being I'm a history buff, I can always dream of 1 day traveling before I hit 100! (Not there yet, thankfully.....) Thank you for posting the paintings of her father Derek. As you may (or not) know, he never sold a single one. Instead he either gifted them to family or kept them at home and the biggest collection is at La Lande. What fascinates me the most about them is the size of them and the details in the "collages". Also, it seems he must have loved the Edwardian Era as many of the people in the paintings wear that period of clothing. Thank you soooooo much for sharing more details of La Lande with your viewers. I especially loved seeing the 'Grand Salon' in its entirety and feel the peace you spoke of. The Chateau Diaries is a busy, energetic channel and there's always something going on, but that is Stephanie to a "t". Colin, I'm glad your weekend went well. Must have been fairly noisy for the days but too quiet in the evenings without your 'girls'. Bet you missed them hugely too. Looking forward to your next vlog. Sending love from Central Canada.

I once worked in a restaurant, many times a crab was found in the clams and mussels held crab shells..a fellow chef found a live crab..we fed it clams and oysters...after worknintook the tiny crab to the beach and set him FREE!!!
