I absolutely love these chit-chat videos! Your discussion about relationship conflicts and how pride can make things harder really resonated with me. It's something I struggle with in my own relationship, and hearing your perspective gave me a lot to think about and inspired me to reflect on myself as well. :)

Isn’t it crazy how pride can really get in the way? 😩

That’s so beautiful that you want your future children to speak your mother tongue. I’m part Hawaiian, so just like you mentioned, it’s hard to learn a language when it’s not the majority language spoken. I try to teach my kids (and learn myself) as much as I can, but I am not fluent to begin with 😂 But hey. All we can do is try. Family is so important, and I believe it’s so vital to have kids around their family, especially elders. We are so excited to move back to HI in a couple months for that reason. Being out here in NC has been a blessing in many ways, but man… we miss our ‘ohana big time.

@@JessicaHolmes oh man that is the biggest lesson I’m learning from Hawaiians here too such a family oriented culture and you are right it’s so beautiful and the rest of the main land make you feel so isolated even from the family you have down the street! So happy for you to be able to come home 🥹

You can sponsor them on base and get them a pass. You can also escort them onto base as well. Then make sure they return their pass once they leave.

So I’ve been riding with them in base but then I have to take each person back off base which can be a little hard when hosting ya know :/

@ oh yes, that can become a bit much. I hope it works out so you can have a wonderful hosting time!!!
