Omggg what you said about honoring your parents really hit me 😭 I’m west African but that pressure is still a thing in our community. I think it is still amazing that you respect your parents and do your best to represent your family well. Even in your daily life it can be hard when the society normalizes certain things BUT you are doing amazing!

Congrats on your first year of marriage! “Eloping” is such a common theme in the military world 😂 I haven’t watched your wedding video yet, but I’m gonna get to it! I bet it was absolutely beautiful! Side note: My husband and I had our wedding at Haiku Gardens. Highly recommend going for gorgeous pics, followed by an early dinner date night with the hubbs. 🥰 I feel you 100% on feeling like you’re not being authentic (whether in real life or online) simply because you want to honor your parents. Hey sis hows your hair been after coloring ur hair. Im think of going lighter (from black) and wonder if the hair color changes and how much time you put to ur natural hair. I just wanna bleach and then have it straight ❤

My curls have definitely gotten looser since coloring it & my hair gets dry much quicks so I have to deep condition it all the time but outside of that not much has changed
