Great, great knife, and great review MC👍. Just so you know, I really appreciate it when you say something along the lines of 'if the most you have ever spent on a knife is $200, and you don't know how much more of a quality difference there will be on a $400 knife- it may not actually be double the quality of knife you are used to and not immediately quantifiable, so this may not be for you...but as your tastes refine and you are thinking of which knife to invest your $400 in- you can't go far wrong with this'. I know I'm paraphrasing you terribly here but I think that's a really helpful and honest way of putting the cost/value curve to people who may be mislead otherwise. To you, me and everyone else who is waist deep into this 'hobby' and still sinking we pretty much know what's what with expensive knives most of the time- but I still think it's a useful and helpful way of quickly giving people some sort of price reference point. Anyway, thanks for showing this knife off and keep em coming👍👍👍

It's impressive that they manage to offer it in full titanium while a more expensive Hinderer xm18 comes with half G10 or some other fake material. But it's still too expensive for being made by Reate.

That's a beautiful version. I got the plain handled one yesterday, finally. This may be the best blade out of my 100+ knives. Action is amazing as well. Yeah, the clip is polarizing, and kept me from buying one earlier, but the knife is so good that it's an afterthought now. One positive for it is that it has very good retention.

I got this exact model a few days ago. First impressions are holy cow! It’s really, really good. I’ll put it above my Hinderer in quality of build all day long. The blade grind is also perfection for edc use. It’s in my top 3 knives at this point alongside my Praetorian T, and Micarta Sebenza. Just a solid, well executed knife. Only 2 minor gripes: 1-Detent a bit stiff though it seems to be working in a bit. 2-Thumb studs need more contouring. They start to hurt pretty quick.

Solid looking knife , nice compound grind on that blade. I love the handle shape , simple shape but that is often comfortabel.Thank you for sharing !

I cannot wait you until the 229 production version is available to the public. The Redencion is one if my fav’s I own, and might just be #1 if the handle where longer. I just love the deployment.

Really good blade length for an 8 inch overall length knife, plus I like that hollow grind combined with that very strong tip. Very well though out blade design.

Beautiful knife, I did have a chance to play with one. A bigger finger choil is a must for me to make a blade an actual tool for my ham-hands though, but I appreciate you sharing. There are just too many knives out here now to not get everything you want and need in a nice blade. Thanks Again, you have a great channel.

I like the tango affect of this drop point, too bad it's hollow ground. Fair price, good action, and good weight. Well done.

It’s my understanding that you in fact can send this knife to Chaves and don’t have to send it to Reate. I have the plain version with the hand rubbed drop point blade identical to the one in this video. It slices like an absolute dream, btw.

Had the chance to snag one on the group order last year and stupidly passed for another knife. When I finally buy the 229 or liberation, they are going to be daily users do the plain ti or micarta versions are the only options I’d look into. The 229 is like the challenge hellcat of folding knives. Like the xm18 is the Camarillo zl1 and strider would be the mustang of the group 😂😂

Great video review! I love this knife! Question: is the Chinese production knives worth purchasing? $320.00 is steep for a Chinese made product. Thank you, Victor
@metal_complex4 жыл бұрын
This is made by Reate. Their quality is known to be substantially better than other Chinese OEMs. Buy with confidence 👍

Well, in terms of overall quality, they're the same. The pros and cons of other features will come down to preference. Personally though, I'd choose this over a Sebenza. I just like a more fidgety knife though, and I'm more partial to the look of the 229

Lol at some point you should get a set of calipers so it's not guesswork on the blade thicknesses. I really like the clean look of the 229 and how it's larger than the Redencion, but the laser engraving isn't for me on this particular one. Once the production models hit shelves though, I'll have a hard time not picking one up. But then I'm also looking at the Socom Elite and the CRK Inkosi...

Oh yeah.... Yep... You opened up a can of worms alright... How DARE you give YOUR opinion on YOUR review! Lol. I never liked forward choils until I owned my first knife that had one. Now I prefer them on any knife that has them. Nothing wrong with having an ergonomic boost. Just adds another scenario that the knife will excel in IMO.
