I just received this unit today and had a chance to hook it up to the Super Retro-cade. I followed the tutorial to reconfigure the buttons and it was very easy. Both sticks are working fine and the buttons work great too. I ordered it back on September 22nd so it took a few weeks to get here. Thanks for review, I'm definitely a happy camper!

Just purchased one of these 2 player arcade sticks. I have the Mayflash PS2 PS3 PC USB Arcade Stick but it's not a high quality unit and it's difficult to upgrade. So hopefully this will be an improvement. I picked up the Super Retro-cade based on your review and have since added 1500+ games with the SD card slot. Thanks again for the tips buddy, Semper Fi!

Of course, but if you want to install newer versions and not remap it might save you some time.

I have a few of the single versions of this setup. It'a alot of fun. The kit i picked up had LED buttons and i stuck printed letters from a clear avery sheet in the buttons. People always asking what button do i hit.. lol

Thanks for the great review, especially the wiring guide. This seems like a great entry-level set for casual arcade gamers or hobbyists who might want to dabble a bit in customization/upgrading before going big on a more expensive set, or building their own.

Arcade sticks have not fundamentally changed for a long time. The best sticks still use the same Sanwa parts so the only differences are the case and PCB. Good parts inside a cheap case should still be fine?

I got the single player one for 38 dollars free shipping. I love it. It has this constant light show too for background that shoots out so it ads to arcade room effect with lights down. I have seen better quality ones, but for the price this is mid rangejoystick. Street fighter 2 has the 6 buttons acuratly, but mortal.kombat will be all.over the place. Still this is better than those crappy 20 dollar ones with the numbers on the 8 blue buttons that only last a couple months. I have yet to find an actual arcade stick that matches a cabinet one. Pacman on this is not bad also, and it's vrry smoothe on airplane games like 1943. The suction cups are a must.

I have a question. I'm looking to making a raspberry pi arcade machine, and I want to mainly play the X-Men (arcade game), The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (arcade game), and The Simpsons (arcade game), as played on the big arcade consoles of the early 90's. Will this joystick work and what type of raspberry pi would I need to run those games? I was hoping to build my own panel and install my own joysticks and possibly go with a 4 player configuration for those games specifically.

Make some blocks to space those joysticks further down, looks like they surface mounted it all to the plastic when it should have had at least half an inch of ply below it.

Hello I bought super retrocade from castlemania games. I used the code u gave but like an idiot I didn't buy any extra controllers. Are the ones provided good? He sells a genesis and a snes one which are compatible do u recommend those?

Pandora’s box can be used as a standard USB controller in a PC

For any lurkers:pandoras box works as just one remote input unless you add some code. You can however remap the parts with the zero delay encoders pixel talks about above.

X-Arcade is seen as a keyboard by PCs so anything that recognises a keyboard will recognise X-Arcade.

The joystick is too loose... Then mod it, FFS. Cut some wood and remount the switches, or make a bigger trigger block for the stick. It needs it anyway as it probably has a ton of flex. Nearly $100 with those sticks, ripped off.
