Cheap $299 AYANEO Next Lite

This video shows unboxing and first impressions of the Ayaneo Next Lite. This is the 512GB model that was sold to I believe the 1st 100 customers or so at $299. This was purchased with my own money and not provided by the company. I went with the white/orange one and I love the color way. I'll also show you some no commentary gameplay of this device out of the box. I would assume that this will continue to improve over time with new drivers but out of the box this is what you get. its weird they completely backtracked on the steamos/holo iso thing. their marketing copy said this would come with steam os, then they fixed it to say it comes with holo iso, now its a "windows handheld" with an optional holo iso DOWNLOAD. confusing as hell

When the gameplay footage started my mind said "Nah, this ain't it". Maybe in markets outside of the US, but I can pick up a Z1 Rog Ally for $329 right now from a Best Buy. If this started at $199 through $300, we would be in Business as it would compete with an Odin 2 or other high-end Android devices

I don’t own the z1 rog ally so can’t comment there. I think the biggest miss here is the base model not including the 512gb standard. 128GB without a MicroSD card reader is a problem at $299.

Emulation Ayn odin 2 smokes it. But since it's windows this one can let you run steam games. I have a laptop with like a 5600u 32gb ram that think won't emulate switch xD. And that's the newer model of this CPU 4600u. It's just gonna depend on what you wanna play. I got the Ayn odin one and I think for the games that it can emulate on switch it runs a ton better then the 5600u but that's cause android can run switch natively cause you know they are arm chips.

I had the Aya Neo 2021 and was upset about how terrible it felt after playing with both analog sticks. Ergonomics is the most important thing when using a handheld and its sad that they still have not learned this

Yeah if you already really anything else it’s better than this IMO. Steam Deck is more feature rich for this price tag.

The Aya space toggles are geared towards use with controller not touch🤝🏽pls use dpad or joystick 🕹️ and X to toggle " stuff for a better time

a 2280 4tb costs about as much as a 2tb 2230 if you add a 1tb sd it goes way over so it's not a bad deal imo

Yeah I feel that they could have offered at least the 512GB as the lowest entry. It is nice that it’s 2280 and relatively easy to upgrade though.

Hello! Is it possible to connect this console to a TV? Is there a bypass charging mode? Is it worth overpaying for a more powerful version or, if you take it, then the youngest one, since at the price of the older model it’s better to look towards Steam Deck?

With a usb type c hub yes. I’m not sure on the bypass charging mode. IMHO at $349 for the 512GB model you are better off getting the Steam Deck LCD. Longer support better performance and more user friendly experience.

It ships with windows and you have the option to download HoloISO from their website which is not the same. It’s been unavailable to download so far though.

Yeah it’s not ideal and I would say the steam deck is a better user experience overall. I don’t hate this device though I just don’t feel like it has a place with everything else out right now.

It depends on how knowledgeable you are. If you want an emulation beast on Android that can run almost everything, I say the Odin 2 is the better device. But if you want emulation and the option for PC games and applications dealing with windows..this

This also does Wii U PS3 etc emulation that the Odin 2 won't, and a lot of PS2 games and switch games the Odin 2 struggles with.

Would agree with what others say here. Because of windows you have out of the box availability to PC gaming and emulation. I don’t own the Odin 2 but I hear it’s an amazing device for emulation.

I'd say Odin only because with this if you spend $300 you will be stuck at 128gb with no sd card to increase it you will be able to fit 1-10 games lol

not really since valve keeps releasing updates and optimization, the 4800u used to be on par with the steamdeck when the steamdeck came out but not anymore

It’s not far off from the Steam Deck LCD model but if you are choosing between the two I’d go with the Steam Deck.

I don’t remember when I was testing but I’ve played with the graphics settings since then and using FSR now and getting 30-40 fps. It’s not bad.

I doubt it… I can’t imagine they’re going to make much off this compare to their other offerings. I think they are trying to diversify their clients by offering more reasonable priced alternatives. Hopefully this is just the beginning.
