I bought this same incubator for my chickens. I completely agree. mine didn't come with the foam pieces so I shoved washcloths into the ends. I used the egg turner and was always having to fiddle with it because it would stop turning. Everyone says you get what you pay for which for me was $60. but I am just a hobbyist and didn't want to shell out a lot just for something to play with. Don't know if I will use it again.

I use a basket during lockdown to keep them from falling under now. First time mine fell under, too. All those screws! Nightmare. Plus it ran so much hotter than it said mine hatched in only 14 days. They come out disabled from not enough days to develop. I had to get an extra thermometer. Cant get my humidity quite right yet.

Love the introduction theme of your videos. Sorry to hear about your hatch rate. Hopefully you do it again

I bought this same incubator last month. I put 30 chicken eggs in it. All did well up until lockdown when the humidity had to be higher. From that moment on, this incubator accumulated so much moisture, that ALL OF MY CHICKS DIED IN THE LAST DAYS! I had to open this incubator up almost every hours because of house moisture was getting all of the lid and in turn, my eggs. I plan on calling STROMBERG'S, the company I got it from. I want to return it. I don't know if they will; but I will be interested in seeing whether you do. I hope that can. It's not like it was cheap. I paid $109+ for it! But I need to get a new one. Thank you for sharing your video!

! WOW ! We paid about $80 for ours on amazon, it has the automatic Turner. I've got quail in there right now for the first time but my chicken hatch that I did went well! We don't have the one you got though..... our fan is on the top and secure and there is no way for chicks of any size to get stuck anywhere! I will comment on my comment the incubator I have.
@SageandStoneHomestead4 жыл бұрын
It's also simple to clean and very easy to add water for humidity control. I've been dampening a sponge (a new one!) And leaving it in there. The automatic Turner is priceless.

The mesh on the bottom when you take the egg turner out is small, less than a quarter inch. It reminds me of the mesh on my food dehydrator trays! Check out the incubator we have. It's a winner it seems like especially for the price.

I just got this same incubator running a test before I put eggs in. Glad to hear you have good luck with it

I have found I can not hatch eggs directly above the fan. The continues air flow dehydrates the egg and has a shrink rap affect on the eggs. I find it very good up to day 18. I do not hatch my eggs in this incubator.. If I put 36 eggs in a 42 egg same incubator not covering the fan aprox 10 to 12 will not be fertile. That will leave about 24 live eggs. I then moove these to another incubator for hatching. What I do like about this incubator for the 1st 18 to 19 days is the clear top. I do not have to open incubator to keep eyes on eggs or to candle eggs.cuts down a lot of oppening and closeing. Also I put small hand towl over the top with out covering the the vents to insulate the incubator

I am currently hatching chickens in this exact incubator. They too fall thru the gaps on the side. I tried hatching quail in it already only 2 survived and 2 fell down and drowned in the tanks.
@CristyadoptDontshop3 жыл бұрын
No I have the exact same one. ducks and chickens can also fit between the floor and the side walls. HORRIBLE. I also found that it doesn't read correctly when i started using a secondary thermometer/ Hydrometer . when you have a high humidity level 70% and have all the water in the bottom they end up drowning. :(

Just wanted to say I recently found your channel and I love it. I am always looking for something new to try and randomly looked up raising quail. I have gone down a rabbit hole and I am afraid I will begin building soon. Been researching incubators and enjoyed this video. My wife is a science teacher and had some old incubators but she informed me that she threw them away a few years ago. Going to have to find a good incubator. Is winter time a good time to get into this or should I wait until spring?
@NYCoturnix4 жыл бұрын
Excited for you! Winter is good if you have an indoor setup - if outdoors in the cold, I would suggest a spring start, although they're hardy enough to stay outside in a covered area once they have all their feathers

Thank you for this! I had this exact Incubator in my wishlist.

I would have been gutted for the fan alone i would not be able to clean it. I would have sent it back without even using it. I had one of these in my basket

Thats dissapointing. I was bummed with 100 hatching from 150 eggs in my cheap incubator. I think building one is the way to go.

you not have any proper cheap and decent incubators in America?

Ah man, this incubator is the WORST. Won some quail eggs in a contest last year. Had to borrow a friends incubator that she uses in her classroom (the incubator you're showing) to use because mine didn't have enough space. BRUH. I have never been so frustrated in my life. It wouldn't hold temp without the lid taped on, then you had to remove the lid (and tape) to add water, otherwise you would spray water all over the electrical parts inside 🤦🏼♀️

Wow man. Sorry about your luck. That's the one thing that sucks about on line shopping. Unless you know specifically the item you want, you may have to take it dry my friend. No lube. I speak from personal experience. I had a couple of WTF moments when unboxing my purchases.That sucks. Leave a review on line though so the next person doesn't get screwed over.
@johnrambo13496 ай бұрын
Too mich complaining. Smh i hate reviews like this. We just wanna know does it do what it do. Stop complaining about your tiny quails falling in. Its made for chickens and ducks. Will the hatch the eggs is the real question. Smh
