It was Catalina or Big Sur in the video. It is currently working with Big Sur.

Hi Rick, the start here mac does not show up it just goes straight to download. Nothing brother ever pops up? Is there a setting on the mac that has to be enabled? Thanks!

Thanks Rick - It isn't the model that I have purchased today But I do use a recent Mac and it is a Brother HL1112 laser printer - so its fairly similar. Out of interest did you buy the original toner cartridge or a 'compatible?

It is still on the original cartridge it came with. My brother said his previous employer used these and they used off-brand toner and drums with no problems.

my computer for some reason gets stuck on looking for a printer it sees it but it keeps trying to find it at print time

Have you tried using it with other devices like a different computer, tablet or phone? If it is having trouble with other devices, you might try resetting the printer. I'm not exactly sure how to do that but I'm guessing information is available online. If other devices work, I would try reinstalling the printer software. Another thing you can do is create a second account on the same computer and try printing from that account. If that works, then you know something is wrong on the first account. Could be a preference file that is corrupt.

My macbook is an older version and i dont think its gonna work the same. My mac is the 2011 version and i was trying to connect it to my Brother laser printer but it was not working, if you have any ways to fix this please reply to this comment.

I would think it would work with a 2011 mac. Can you print from another device, like a smartphone or tablet?

Top fast. Some stages are skipped over. You computer guys assume we know more than we do. Not pedagogical. Why the rush? Remember you are talking to people all ages and with various degrees of familiarity with that stuff. Advise to slow down the speed (little clogged wheel on top right of screen. Click on it and select 0.75 on the menu unfolding. This will alter the pitch of the voice, though…) Good luck.

Help Rick. I'm an old chic---you're going to fast for me. Its me not you--help. I am all set up until you start working on the actual buttons on the printer. I get so lost at that point. I keep playing your instructions over--I'm stuck on" Connecting WLAN" on the printer. Then it goes to Sleep. Sorry.

Not helpful. First you move way too fast. Second it did not setup on mine Mac like yours.
