Reminds me of another one I had as a kid that had a coiled pipe in a boat that heated the water it was floating in with a candle. No steam. just water expansion through thermo syphon effect to push it around. Cheers Rob

Hi Jim. Every year I visit a model engineering exhibition. There's often an old man there selling similar little boats to this call Pop-pops. He makes them out of tin or aluminium cans. They work in a similar way. Take a look on KZbin for Pop-pop or Putt-Putt boats. There are videos showing how to make them. Have fun Jim. Best wishes from Nobby
