A boy in my neighborhood used to follow me up everyday i ignored for a few days but after that it got worse he came to me and touched he holded my wrist with his hand and i shook it off the next day he tried to hug me from behind i literally ran i went back home hugged my older brother and cried for hours I told him everything. My bro is 25 after that both of us went to that boys house the first thing boys mother said was "Agr girls aise kapre pehne gi to yehi hoga" my bro literally shouted at her he slapped the boy and warned him that if he followes me again he'll report to the police he told his mother "My sister has the right to wear whatever she wants you're no one to lay a hand on her without her permission or touch her if she says no its a no back off instead of judging her character by her clothing know ur own spoiled son first he is mature enough ti understand what is right and what is wrong i wish you had a daughter and she would go through all of this." I'm really Blessed to have a family that understands and supports me they trust me and i love them my parents are in indian air force so i hardly get to see them in a year but my brother is responsible and understanding it was him who took care of me when i got my first period he was open about it and is understanding i don't even have any grandparents he's such a blessing. . Edit- I showed my brother this comment and he said following things -I live in no different world than other men the only difference is I chose to educate myself to become a better human in my late teens - My mom and dad told me one thing when I was young and that will always stay with me "There is no point in respecting your sister if you're not gonna feel the same respect and understanding for other women" - Also men (and women) educate yourselfs I was lucky enough to have a well educated family but some you might not be but you're in internet age Google stuff , from correct sources🗿 - Women lose one hell of confidence when they are in their teens, the moment they are over learn to get it all back that will help you fight disgusting men if they ever harass you - Men being nice and respectful from inside means nothing unless you're gonna change the men around you when they bad mouth a woman . Everything aside I'm 20 in my final year of university. My brother married in the beginning of this year and is blessed with twins (boy&girl) this November. 💕 rest I'm blessed to have a brother like that and I'm even more blessed to have parents like that but above all it's all about self teaching yourself about such stuff.

First time I was catcalled, I was around 7-10 years old, I can't remember exactly because it's a faint memory but I remember clearly how I felt. I was going to a friend's house with my sister she literally lived two houses away. I can't remember what my sister was wearing, but I remember I was wearing a dupatta on my head because an aunty told me to. As I stepped out my neighbour's sons, all brothers, the eldest probably around 14-15 years old, the started singing a song, I can't remember which song. But I know i got goosebumps. I had seen it in movies that when girls grow up they get catcalled and some of them actually like it, but I did not like it, I didn't know how to defend my self or how to react, I just remember freezing in shock and embarrassment. Then I realized my younger sister (3 years younger than me) was with me and I got really scared and grabbed my sisters hand and started walking with them following and I just quickly rang the bell to my friends house and rushed inside. I was traumatised! I had no idea this could happen to me at such a young age. I told no one in fear, although now I know that my parents would kicked their asses, but I just knew that I was told by some random adults that I should be going out like this and that and behaving in particular ways, I was scared I would be blames, imagine a little girl being eve teased for the first time not knowing why she is being eve teased, thinking it's her fault, being scared even though the people who eve teased he should be scared. When I grew up and heard about the rape case of the 9 year old Pakistani girl and the 6 month old baby in India, and many many more, I broke out into tears, if it was so hard for me being eve teased at the same age as the Pakistani girl, imagine that poor baby getting raped and brutally murdered, IT WASN'T HER FAULT!

IT’S NOT THE DRESS THAT IS CHEAP IT’S THEIR MENTALITY
@tom-y15203 жыл бұрын
Dress code does matters and need no meticulous explanation for that. But to be dressed decently (proper cover which need no further explanation) cannot be a cure but can help in mitigating this social evil from those sexual predators. Strict laws for sexual violence can only be a part to counter it. The most effective tool can be strengthening family and religious institutions(not norms and values that negates our potentials) . With more working women and their participation in outdoor activities we cannot always expect guaranteed protection from the law enforcement agencies (to be more realistic). Expecting a random person to protect you from someone who has no respect for the law is a difficult choice for him/her(whom you expect to protect you). Let us not forget the subject here is about safety and security. To develop a man with the inherent responsibility to protect and respect a woman beginning from his childhood can be the best solution. Women are not a weaker gender but there are specific aspects of life where both the two parties have different biological role and social responsibility. ✌

Who is going to help her at nighttime ??? c) The MOTHER herself FEEL'S that her daughter's dress is inappropriate. As a parent, why has she even allowed her daughter to purchase such clothes ?? Why has she allowed her daughter to go out for late night parties ?? d) The MOTHER herself wears sari's, yet she is harassed. Isnt the mother aware that if her daughter wears a salwaar, EVEN THEN, she will be harassed ?? 3) The parent's role has been sooo poorly presented, the entire film is depressing. What moral can u expect from this film ?? 4) For majority of females, our families are our backbones, our pillar of strength. When the pillar itself collapses, how are you going to protect urself ?? 5) Women are in no way fragile or weak. Its only that their inner core strength has NEVER been tapped or challenged. @AnupBhatt6 жыл бұрын
The conversation on the short dress is not meant for blame assigning on the girl. Let us be aware that some elements of the society, no matter how much education they receive, will end up as damaged goods. These people rape women. Not because they aren't educated. But because they lack empathy..dressing traditionally so as to not provoke men is not a comment on women. It is an unfortunate truth that a woman's safety depends on a man's provocation. Nobody deserves the fate of rape or molestation. Dressing conservatively is not the solution, it is a safe measure. If someone is twisted enough, they will rape in spite of a burkha. Conservative dress just reduces the probability. It isn't the ultimate solution.

I don't know by day by day these types of incidents are increasing. It's just the weak mentality of some people due to which many of us suffer. Every house has a mother, daughter , sisters, wife. It's the time to take action rather than just seeing anybody who is suffering.

And how your parents teach you about girls?? I've my three Lil brothers and I always say them to keep looking down while walking and think every girl as your sister and respect her like you respect your own sister and mother If boys keep this thing in their mind that they do have sisters and mothers then I hope that they'll give respect to every girl This thing has become a universal problem May Allah protect every girl from such people

I tried my best to encourage her that this won't happen again if u stand for urself but today she sent me this video and it breaks my heart!!! This is my request to all the girls to pls learn self defence like Karate or boxing because the kind of mentality and the govt we have there's nothing else we can do!! I don't blame the girls wearing cheap dresses.. there is nothing called as cheap dresses.. or men's with full of lust dripping from their faces.. I blame our poor government for the poor and week justice system.. because there people who are running our systems are rapists..
