Thank you. Honestly I spend a lot of time trying to make sure that what I am doing is "attainable" exactly as you say. I want the most amount of people to feel like they could easily replicate somethign similar. I love that people notice that vibe :) Thanks again :) If you build it I'd love to see pics in our facebook group (no pressure!)

Wow, this is fantastic. I thought a larger terrain piece like this would be impossible for someone like myself, but the way you present and show it makes it look very doable. Foam board ordered, keep up the good work. Subbed, can’t wait to see what you develop next and see the channel grow.

Thank you very much for your kind words. This is the kind of thing that really makes doing these videos worth it and it sums up the main reason for the channel. I think making terrain can seem super daunting and so I like to show nice looking stuff (hopefully) and simple stuff that people think "I can do that". If you make anything I'd love to see pics, we have a facebook group if you faniced it. Also going to try and make more vids over the summer, I'm a bit slow at it!

Terrain Made Easy yeah it looks brilliant considering how simple you made it look (I appreciate there’s a bit more too it than what you probably show lol). Big fan of your concrete/ steel looking barricade too so am attempting to have a crack at that at the same time. Am extremely new to 40k (from a table top perspective), so I really appreciate you putting together well thought out stuff which is at least attemptable. I’ll defo check out the group when I’ve got something together :)

Constructive criticism: The column looks very fine and linear like they haven't been touch. I think cutting in marks in the foam to give a look of wear and tear would give it a nice look especially something you can do with foam. Making on the bottom of the floor piece would also give it a more rough look however you probably won't see it often. However a over good tutorial and seems pretty easy to follow.
@TerrainMadeEasy
@TerrainMadeEasy 3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, someone posted in facebook a version with damaged columns and I was like "errr why didn't I do that". I sometimes don't add extra detail on purpose to show off like a template but yeah I could have done more on this one like that.

Super detailed and super easy to follow the instructions, I'll absoloutely be giving this a shot soon. Can I just ask about the paints you use? I'm an absoloute novice when it comes to paint types - The black and brown you use, are they just cheap acrylic paints?
@TerrainMadeEasy
@TerrainMadeEasy 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks. Foam board is pretty common now, crazy how things change. Yeh mostly cheap acrylics for paints, just like any cheap acrylic paints will do, like artists arcylics or maybe like house paints. Cheap is generally the best, you could in theory do this with a black, white, grey and brown for example.

For foamboard do you need it with paper or without? I hear some folks keep it on while others do not. I have seen some use it without and cover it with mod podge to make it like a sort of plastic. Any advise, please?
@TerrainMadeEasy
@TerrainMadeEasy 3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So fo this build I left the paper on, you can remove it but it will be a little floppier. The mod podge doesn't make it like a plastic, it is basically used as a protective layer so the foam won't be so easily damaged. The pro to taking the paper off would be you could add damage and stuff a bit eaiser :)

@TerrainMadeEasy

If you want the better video go to terrain tutor... blend and lackluster copy of the same build. But if you feel you dont have time for a 10 vid build series its fine.

Whilst I udnerstand it isn't the most unqie thing in the world 1. In my defence, I call this basic and yet you clicked on it. I am trying to build a collection of terrain that people can replicate and make it eaiser for people. 2 I think most people would know Mel and I think he would say nothing is new under the sun. And I apparently copied 10 vids from him? I openly admit this isn't the most unique idea. 3. I tried to add value with a free pdf.

your painting technique is a bit time consuming....i based painted very rough and quickly in emulsion and sponged on a top coat....massively quick but leave off all butresses ,paint these the same way and put these on last ...my stuff is on FB 40k terrain and more and is cream coloured
