Thanks Markus!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting back into videography and photography. I'm literally starting all over from scratch. I bought the Lumix S1 with the firmware 2.0 upgrade to somewhat future proof my camera. That being said, I'm taking your advice and learn how to be a better shooter and just shoot in 1920X1080. I'm not making a motion picture, shooting for web content is my general goal for outputting to the masses. Spending tons of money is not the answer and thank you for teaching me that in terms of this discipline. I watch your other videos outside of the photography world as well. You're a very cool guy. Anyone who is your friend is blessed to have you in their life You're a very special person. Looking forward to your White Balance video. I want to do right!!!!!

A lot has changed in the lightbulb world since this video. This inspired me to make my own cheap lights. I’ve got a 5 bulb head that I’m putting in 5 100 watt equivalent bulbs. They each are only 11watts pulling near 5 amps. The bulbs can be dimmed and color temp changeable through an app. Got a soft box that will hopefully fit. I’m excited to see how they turn out. I figure I’m saving like over a thousand bucks instead of buying 2 500 watt equivalent lights. I’m spending $250. Yeah they won’t look as pretty

I loved that. ' I bought a vacume and it did not suck.' Does that mean its good or bad? lol Love this video though. Lighting is really trial and error. I don't think there are rules. When I was learning we used a fill, key and backlight. When I worked on film I'd see the professionals reflect natural light off massive sheets of Polystyrene that became sails if it got a bid windy. Living in Scotland. It always got windy lol. Lee Lighting were a great crew though. They even let me help with the rigging of a Wendy Light one time. It was like Gods spotlight and when we slowly let it heat up to power a beatiful white horse came and stood under it. That was 1996 and we didn't all have a camera in our pockets but I snapped that image in my memory.

YES YES YES!!! Cheap LED bulbs are GREAT! Back in film days, you matched your light source to the film stock (incandescent, daylight, fluorescent) and NEVER mixed light colors. These days, any light source works because digital white balance can adjust on the fly!

The minimal electrical draw of the modern LED lightbulb is another good selling point. I have an older house and my studio is located in an outbuilding that has only a few amps feeding it, through one little wire buried in the yard. With these LED bulbs I can brighten up the room, without upgrading my electrical service. (a 10K job.). I've also put these into my print/ editing room to get the proper white balance and brighten up the print viewing area so I an really see what the prints look like. These cheap bulbs rock!
