I was amazed when I sat down along the main avenue in Guadajuato and an Indian sat next to me. I had a conversation with the guy and he was absolutely brilliant - a bit of a surprise given I've often given hitchhiking Indians rides and found I could not speak to them in English or in Spanish, so many Indians in Mexico ONLY speak native indian languages. BUT this guy was brilliant and a joy to talk to. Not sure if he was with one of the Universities or maybe with the theatre there, but I never forgot. There are no groups where brilliant people cannot emerge from even in Mexico!!
