The Topdon battery pack looks to be a brilliant thing. Really interesting about that Fiesta. I realise I would pay well over book as a private buyer, because the mileage is low, providing everything else checked out. One owner cars kept that long are likely to be honest. The little Citroen C1 looks to be a cracking little car. I remember the MR2 coming out. I was walking home with a mate from the pub & passed a Toyota dealer. We both thought it was a stunning design. That BMW 4 looks to be a superb vehicle but the miles….

All turbos were imported. You can always tell when it’s not an import by the oblong number plate. The square number plate would be an import.

MR2 turbo's had raised engine vents. Imported loads, loved them but once that back end went there was no getting it back.

Yeah , lovely machine . Brother of mine imported the Jap performance machines also . Jap MR2 turbo had the 3SGTE engine ( ceramic turbine , higher compression etc etc , 220 Bhp ) . Settled on a Celica GT4 - A myself , same engine but 4WD , not as snappy as the MR2 and easier to keep " between the hedges " !!! 🤕 ..... 🤣

Lee had the same MR2 in silver they were non Turbo and pop up headlights were banned around 2004 due to E-U rules regarding pedestrian safety, bought mine for 5k in 2010 intending to keep as a classic unfortunately icy roads and MR2s dont go ended up in a ditch taking wife to work had to push her out of the passengers door (she still got to work ).

Had a 2.0 gt 1989 in blue nice motor only problem I had with it was when it poured down with rain one of my plugs would some how get wet and cause it to misfire

My old boss loved Toyota's and had a champagne colour MR2 in that model, that his Mrs drove Top of the range. Was a beautiful car, be worth a fortune nowadays as it had about 15K miles on when he traded it in!

Another enjoyable video,cheers. It's well worth getting the TopDon JS2000 for the car,got mine a few months ago....good value indeed. Worked for Toyota in v.late 80's for some good years & those MR2 were awesome as i was lucky enough to drive them. Our dealership had 1 of only 2 of this special yellow MR2s in the country in auto! Plus we had the Swift GTI concept convertible in white (1993 ish) the only one ever made i think, my boss was racing Swift GTIs at the time & had a racing logo for the team but another dealer copyrighted our design.....so we took that car off them without going to court,the top looked awful on it when up,had like the Audi TT roll bars behind the seats in white....looked awesome. Damaged my 1st car too, Camry estate 2.2L that had 2 rear wiper blades. Good old days.

I had a similar black T-Bar S reg MR2 back in the early 2000's. Its a very sort after later model Rev5 but with earlier Revision alloy wheels, definitely not a Special Edition 10th Anniversary, they were all silver with contrasting black roof. Rust is the main problem with these, but if its in decent condition underneath then £4100 is a good price.

I cannot recommend buying an imported Turbo MR2. My son did and I spent many, many hours taking out the engine and having it refurbished, The lands broke between the piston rings as it needs 5 star fuel. We fixed it but, but two years later it did it again!!. So out with the engine, we had a crane by then, and did it again. He sold it when fixed thank Heavens. You have been warned. It drove very fast and was a bad handler and I was pleased he got shut of it ,as were my hands.

Had an MR2 back in the day cracking car. Pop up headlights were banned for safety reasons. IE to protect pedestrians if you collide with them. That’s why the Mk3 MR2 didn’t come with them.

I thought the MR2 would go for a bit more. A Japanese classic in the making. I currently own a 2010 Honda CR-Z and Honda only managed to sell approx 4,300 of them in 6 years. A good one sold privately will still command £5k. Frank Stephenson, a notable car designer who worked for the likes of Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, McLaren etc was asked what were the 8 most affordable future classic coupes in his opinion - the CR-Z is in that list.

The MR2 is a Revision 5 N/A (last version of the MK2). Nice car and generally worth decent money. The most sought after version is the Revision 5 Turbo, but that'll ask pretty strong money indeed. Revision 3-5 Turbo cars are considered the ones to go for as the engine got an update and the suspension is better.

Lee a trader mate of mine has a 1992 mk2 Japanese import mr2 turbo in his unit, no rust and 33000 km (20.000 miles) I think it's worth around £15000

my mum dose like look fiat 500 but i said they can have issues, she decided in the end go for another micra but the next gen up from her previous as it been reliable, think she paid £2500-£3K may tad more but first thing i said how much it 2005 plate but she said it was right color and 40k miles and ive been in it and it runs like its new and only used to go hospital 24 mile round trip and odd trip in to town, her partners 4x4 dose rest driving, i said keep on top rust the car last a very long time and very low yearly miles it should last a very long time it a 1.2 think it Renault engine in the newer ones that just a guess for this gen upwards but 40k miles it runs so smooth and so quite its like new so even tho 2005 car a lot money but in a way you getting a car just broken in with 40k miles has lo life left so looking at i like that not bad deal it drives like a new car and sounds like one

All the turbo were grey imports from Japan. If you flipped the sun visor down there was Japanese writing on it. Visually similar to uk model, biggest difference was two power bulges on the engine cover, where the uk model was flat. Superb driving position and gear change. Lethal handling in the wet.

@@mark4lev You were right about being lethal in the wet , but not as lethal as a Jap import , short wheelbase Nissan 300 ZX ( approx 280 Bhp through rear axle ) . Had to change the boxer shorts after attempting to drive one of those flat out on a rainy day !! ☠☠☠☠☠☠

Yes. 68 on Autotrader. The question is why ? There are quite a few potential problems like a radio that tunes the wrong frequencies. The same car is called the Jazz in the U.K. Autotrader has 2464 of those to choose from.

My mates (father and son in our village) ran Skoda Superbs as taxis and they were each doing easily 50k (I think that’s a huge underestimate because I actually don’t remember the numbers) miles per year, mostly airport runs, often 2-3 each every day, so 400 miles not unusual, 6 days a week. To be fair, the cars generally didn’t fail because of mileage. Eventually they just got tired around the edges and they suppliers offered good deals on new ones.

@@voivod6871 I only found this out from KZbin but it kind of makes sense when you remember the rubber bumper MG's, that was because of American safety regs. It spoiled the cars but kept them happy and with a big market like that you bow to their needs or don't sell there.

Really? Maseratis aren’t all that expensive to buy. However they can be costly to run and as Lee owns his own garage, he saves on workshop costs. Besides he works hard for his money so is entitled to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
