Considering their age and the fact that Robin is singing while sitting down makes this even more amazing. Sitting affects a vocalist's breathing and this in turn effects their ability to hold notes, reach their higher register, etc. Zander has always been an under rated vocalist by the mainstream press, but among his peers, he is one of the most respected vocalists in rock....and with good reason. Same with Rick and Tom. Both excellent musicians. Tom basically invented the 12 string bass and Rick is one of the most successful song writers in rock. Why this band isn't in the RRHOF is beyond me. They have been such an influence on so many bands and musicians over the years. sad.

MrMike9158 My pleasure. The first time I heard this tune it was thundering across the Fraternity Quadrangle from speakers pointed out somebody's window. It was September 1979, I was 17, and it was my first day at a college in Kentucky. I had just stepped off a plane from L.A. that morning. It's one of my fondest memories. In the days ahead I would be introduced to Talking Heads, Eno, Frank Zappa, and on and on, but my adult musical education began that September evening with Cheap Trick.

Jack Higgins Now THAT is a great memory. Thank you so much for sharing. To give you an idea of the people Cheap Trick touched back then, I had graduated from the police academy at the University of Illinois in November, 1977. One of my graduation presents was their very first, self titled album. Every "young" cop on my shift by 1979 had Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon cranking from our portable 8 track players when we weren't answering calls...lol. For me, thee was nothing more exciting than going to a call with my lights and siren on and "Ridin' The Storm Out" blaring out of the single speaker of my 8 track boom box....lol. Something that would have gotten me three days off without pay had my patrol sergeant found out...lol. Take care.

They are already in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I saw them 2017 in Santiago de Chile with Deep Purple and Tesla ... they were replacing Liny Skynyrd and the truth that for me it was an impressive show full of vitality and rock and roll, a party that did not stop .... I went to applaud deep purple and I was amazed with CHEAP TRICK

Rick always has the coolest looking guitars and plays them to the max. He was Vans before Vans was Vans. He's a regular Satch (Huntz Hall) F the RRHF- they should be in it.! Look how long it took Yes to be inducted. Chris Squire should have experienced it during his lifetime- he was the bridge through all of their iterations. The Moody Blues should be in there- and for sure Cheap Trick. As great as ever!

Sure wish I knew the path on Rick's rig was - nice tone. Almost sounds like a Pignose, but not likely. All these guys are so, so under-rated, yet they just keep putting on great shows - fun shows - and everyone seems to know the lyrics. It's not always the case, but I have found that if a band can play really well live and execute with professionalism, yet allow wiggle room to engage with the crowd as it pertains to the music, then that will be a fun time for all. These guys are old school - they bring it. A great, tight solid band for decades. To my ear, it's a composite of the members and a unique ability to write songs that we relate to in our own ways, although as a quitarist, I really like Rick's work. Good stuff.
