What's the difference between cheap and expensive leather boots: at least a decade.
@sbentsen2714 Жыл бұрын
I remember buying my first (faux) leather jacket in Macy's years ago. I bought it with my own money, I was blown away by how expensive the jackets were, but this one that I found I like the style better than the others, and it was cheaper. About $85, so I thought hey this is great! It doesn't get too cold here often so I didn't wear it that much, but I noticed several years later that little black flakes started appearing on the ground and in the car and even when I would go out to dinner I would notice black flakes on the table or the chair, or on my shoulders. I started noticing this jacket was falling apart inside the collar 😐😐😑... I don't remember what I did with the jacket, I think I gave it to a thrift store. But this past year I spent some money on a real suede jacket and I absolutely love it!! 😁👌🏼 This new suede jacket makes me feel like a million bucks 👍🏼

Same rules apply but I bought a leather jacket a few years ago for about 135(fau leather) and it started to fall apart probably one year in in wearing. It looked insanely cool and I got a fuck ton of compliments on it but damn was it cheap. Save up if you want something that last for a long long time

Interestingly, I got a faux leather jacket a year ago from alpha industries that feels nothing like any other leather I've had. It was distressed and super thick, but light, and it feels like it's aged slightly. It's honestly suspiciously soft and smooth. The only giveaway that made me realise it was fake was the weight. Other than that, it's the best damn plastic I've ever worn 🤣
@Odd_godd2 жыл бұрын
@@shahtayyib yeah, if it’s thick but feels light it’s most likely fake leather. Real leather is heavy.

There is also the kind of so-called "Genuine Leather" that is *not* suede with its characteristic fiber nap, but instead basically just sliced leftovers from low-quality pieces of hide, that are processed heavily and buffed up to have a smooth surface - that is the *cheap* stuff.

2 comments to add to the point you are making in this video.... 1. Quality never cost as much as it saves. 2. I'm too poor to buy cheap stuff.

If the style of the Boots or the Shoes that you like are Classic, then you Should buy the BEST. Believe me most (not all) of the expensive boots/shoes last much longer years and you can tell they are quality. But make Sure they are TOTALLY comfortable on your feet. It's you feet. They carry your body all day.

I don't agree with the 4:13 tip. Boots can have a goodyearwelt to a midsole, and the rubber outsole is glued to that, but it's still a goodyear welt.

Hi, Love your Channel for years, and the bigger volume men styles really helped me . I wanted to ask if you can make a video in the future with brands which are/have vegan clothes, boots and more, normally stuff like fake leather boots are more associated with low quality, but It would be nice to know from an expert like yourself if and what brands try to target a market for people with style but decided for themself to not go with animal products. I heard from leather which is made out of cactus which is supposed to be very durable but I only saw this used on small items like keychains etc., and for car seats its slowly getting a think with high quality non animal leather, but I would really like to have a video topic like this in the future with your expertise . And thanks again for the great videos all the time. Greetings from Germany

4:12 this „pro tip“ is 100% wrong. There is something called a closed channel stitch + there are shoes with another extra sole such as the red wing moc toe where you wont see a stitch and its goodyear welted

You can have different qualities of suede just like leather. You definitely should never pay for a name brand, any name anyone in high school recognizes is shit quality 10 out of 10 times. Edward Green, John Lobb, Gaziano Girling, Viberg etc these are the best made shoes and boots but you’re paying well above a few hundred. I just spent $1,530 on Edward Green chukka boots lol. Banbury in snuff suede. That’s much different than suede at DSW

Good evening, what we torture our feet is, of course, an individual matter of each individual, anyway, it is an investment in our image in health, not only physical but above all mental, caring for them is in our best interest, how we pamper ourselves, we will also take care of ourselves. not maybe this is how it is, show me what you are wearing and I will tell you who you are, the more well taken care of the bottom, the easier it will be to deal with the top, even a mess and apparent sloppyness must have some deeper meaning chaos is finally a contribution to something new and we literally leave our own constantly looking for style because the most important thing is comfort and how much we step on the ground from time to time, tearing one of the feet off soaring, we drive each other, we see how important they are to us.👍

Not to be this person- but can we take a moment to acknowledge horses are being slaughtered for leather boots? Cows are one thing- we eat them but what are they doing with the rest of the horse? So weird- I thought America saw horses like they saw dogs & cats.
