I did this also,.. and started looking for a plastic adapter to cut the spillage. That little bit spilled had me worried but it's probably insignificant. Did he say 6 seconds of fill might last 35 minutes? on low-low maybe, I'm trying to heat nails. It does last a surprisingly long time, I'd like to see this 'process' with numbers, how many ounces transfer each time. One guy had a clear reservoir, I was shocked at how fast it filled.

Ive been re-filling my butane torch for 2+ years by this method. It leaks a little more once the torch fills up, so you have to be careful about that. But thats no big deal really. The aerosol fuel cans are so cheap it doesnt matter... IMHO

It's really simple. All you need to do is buy one good gas refill with tips. And I made a tip work on it. With minimum spillage. Heads up though. On a couple of lighters I've had with the dual jets. I've had to take the top off to get the wheel mech to be able to turn it up some with this camping fuel. Like you would do to a crack lighter. But you'll need a micro screw driver set. But afterwards it works. For some reason lighters will work on it. But sometimes the highest gas setting isn't enough and must go further to get a regular flame compared to the more expensive brands. And occasionally you'll have to use a qtip or something to clean the jets off. For a $3-10 gas station or smoke shop butane lighter you maybe willing to modify or a regular flame butane lighter it can be worth it, but for a high dollar cigar lighter I wouldn't. For the most part now I use the higher end stuff. Unless your using it to smoke meth, a can of butane last a long time.

it's branded Redheads in Australia. I have seen some other cheap 'dollar shop' ones that do the same. All you do is rotate the collar and the flame adjusts from Pinpoint to Broad. it's great. I will have more lighter videos soon on my other channel kzbin.info thanks for watching.

Theyre both butane. I just posted a similar video because this method didnt work in my torch. They burn about the same.

you do realize that camping butane is not refined it contains oils and will Gunk up your butane lighter is full the butane for regular lighters does not contain oil and will not going up your butane torch that is why it cost more than camping butane

I actually got my hands on the MSDS for 8 well known butane brands (including Colibri) with a complete chemical breakout of the ingredients and honestly... refined butane looks like hoax. Each brands are a mix of gases: butane, iso butane, another kind of butane I forgot and propane if I read that right. Almost the exact same thing except for variations in the quantity of each. I have seen no discrimination of any type of those gases in any specify brand and surprisingly, there is a lot in those cans that isn't one of the butane gas (even colibri). The one big difference is that refined brands don't have the smelly additive (which is also a gas). The only reason I would buy refined butane would be for a "crème brulé" torch. Doesn't really matter for lighting a smoke, joint or cigar.

The butane is actually a cheap quality and I will hurt the durability of your torch on torches that you care about You should always use refined butane

I would not say that was a hack in any way shape or form..all he did was use another can ov gas,I'm sure that ain't gonna help anyone who don't hav a camp stove,jst same as buy'n one! Unless it's xmas eve lol

hi. Yeah im sure. as long as you dont have any open flames nearby- its ok. It works just as effective as proper butane refills. Good for emergencies.

Not sure that's a hack. I've always only known about those camping butane bottles and have always been using them. This is the first time I came across those smaller bottles for lighters. In fact I'm looking for a hack to fill a lighter with the camping butane bottle because the nozzle is too larger to fit the lighter and adaptors don't seem to exist?
