Cheapest VB WRX Exhaust

Quick little video show casing my newest exhaust setup. This was a no name brand 4" quad tip axle back exhaust that I found on ebay for $250 paired with the ETS Jpipe! This is a much cheaper optioned compared to remark or nameless where the same set of pipes will cost you around double!

Just a heads up: I know I said I would link the exhaust, but it appears as of publishing this video they are out of stock and priced at over $3,000 which is what eBay sellers do to keep people from buying the item while it's out of stock but also keep the listing active and not need to re list later after restock. I would simply check back occasionally by typing in "2022 Wrx axleback" and sort by lowest price first and once they are back in stock they should show there!

@its.Andy1 the idea is that no one will buy it at that price. If someone were weird enough to buy it at that price the ebay seller will refund and send a note saying they are out of stock. It's super common for seller to do this on eBay when they're out of stock.

I've got ETS with resonated midpipe, and it's perfect. The drone with just the axel back in the highway was ridiculous.

Been running this ebay axleback and resonated mid pipe for 2 months, overall its a nice piece for the money with a little bit of drone at 2k rpm. Hopefully it holds up but ill probably swap for something more tame in the future like the q300

My VA wrx had an almost identical setup and I think it sounded almost the same, just a lot more turbo spool on my old wrx. But I've switched up my exhausts so many times I'm not sure which setup you heard lol

Yeah cold start sounds bad on every exhaust I've heard on these cars so far. Working with my tuner now to remove the high Revving stratified start.

Interesting how, the higher the engine tolerances get, the more modern cars sound like injected turbo diesels. (Tolerances of diesel engines are far in excess of petrol/gas engines).

Crazy question😅 but I’m looking at the PLM and also the Boso exhaust from remark. Would you recommend this one over those two? Are you satisfied with it?

In my opinion all the axle backs sound the same EXCEPT for the Boso. The Boso from remark sounds better to me. It has a deeper tone and I think it has to do with the longer 4" pipe section incorporated in the design. That was by far my favorite exhaust on my old 2020 WRX

@@StreetInspired1 yeah I been listening and hearing the same. I ended up removing the 2nd cat and resonator at a local shop and sounds the same are replacing the pipes. Glad to hear boso is ur favorite lol

FIRST EXHAUST MOD IM DOING IS UNEQUAL LENGTH HEADERS SO I CAN TRY AND GET BACK SOME OF THE TRADITIONAL SOUND. ITS DOWN A COUPLE HORSEPOWER BUT WITH THE OTHER MODS I DO, ITLL MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS. I HATE SOUND OF THESE FA24'S ON COLD STARTS BUT IM HAPPY TO SEE EBAY HAS SOME AFFORDAVLE OPTIONS AT LEAST...

Man I can tell that is just waaaaay too loud lol sounds like an airplane on the flybys 😂 I returned my muffler delete’s remark when I saw Db ratings from muffler deletes on other KZbin vids. Even my muffled ETS axlebacks are a little too loud for my liking on cold start ups but they sounds great all the rest of the time and look great so overall I’m happy

How is the drone in highways

The drone is definitely there. I will say it's not unbearable, you can still hear yourself think and you can still talk to people in the car without yelling, but if you want no drone at all, this one's a bad choice.

It popped before the Jpipe but the jpipe made it pop a little bit more!

@zietbukuel it could be. It popped when it was stock but not too much. The extra fuel in the tune could add to it also but the tune itself isn't designed to pop.

It's definitely faster than my old WRX. Has 51whp more than my old one and feels a lot faster and also has a lot less money in mods for more power haha

Yeah this one does. It seems hit-or-miss. A lot of companies are claiming no cel but people are still getting them. I guess it really depends on the individual car.

I feel like all cold starts sound like crap on these cars. My tuner is actually actively helping me remove the cold start feature. It's just there for emissions to warm up the Cats.

They used to.. but the EPA fined ebay for allowing people to sell non compliant catless pipes or fake pass-through style cats. So now ebay is super strict on exhaust items

I can't believe how expensive some of these simple axle backs are. It's just a few pieces of stainless, and a lot of times you're paying a premium for the newer cars. You can buy full catback exhaust for some older cars for $100-200 and a full catback for this car seems to average around $1,200-1,300
