Not a bad idea to run a ball hone down the barrel while it’s apart. That’ll give it a nice surface for them piston and gland seals to seal against and remove any light surface imperfections that could damage the new o rings, wear rings, etc.

Straight up, this was a fantastic video. Very easy to understand and follow with great explanations. You just need a bigger pipe wrench or a cheater pipe. Downward force on the wrench from and elevated position is a recipe for a head injury.

Good explanation, i just did my Kubota bucket cylinder was just like that. Only thing i did differant was to heat the piston seal to about 200 degrees in hyd. Oil to soften it up.

How long are your fingers? LOL. I guess my question is, when you see a scratch deep inside the cylinder, how would you decide if it needs replacing or it is fixable with say...a hone? Also, where can I find an assortment of spanner-type wrenches?

How could someone ID a cylinder that has no markings? I have a rollback towtruck and one of te cylinders is leaking but i dont know the manufacturer of the rollback bed
