Maybe Bori sleeps a lot because she was a street dog and had no comforts like other dogs. So now that she has her own bed and regular meals, she took it upon herself to savor all the good things in life. Also, they have pet insurance you can buy and use at the vet. Policies vary so choose what’s best for your girl. Once again, I’m so glad you adopted this girl from Korea. Dogs everywhere need help. 👍

We adopted an older-ish dog about 3 weeks ago. She'll be 4 next month. She's a love! She'll need some basic training (sit, stay, etc) but other than that she's really a great dog. Just wants to be loved and to love us. Adopting a shelter/homeless dog is the best!

Yes and adopting older means they’re usually potty trained already. ☺️

I think it's wonderful that you've opened your heart to another dog. My advice is to be patient. I don't know much about dogs, but my sister and her husband have two cats, one of them has been with them since he was a kitten and the other one joined their family awhile later. They didn't get along at all at first but now they're best friends. In my opinion you're handling the situation pretty well. Be patient and let them work things out.

Have you tried giving Nari extra affection to reassure her that she hasn't been replaced? Maybe when you're all together, give Bori hugs and pets to show Nari she's part of the family, but then give Nari extra attention to make it clear that she's still loved. It's really awesome you brought Bori home but obviously you don't want Nari to feel insecure. I know I feel bad when friends meet new people and forget about me. I'm sure it will work out as they get used to each other!

Loved the Nari and Boristory, and getting to know her with you. I actually haven’t seen the Bori adoption video which I will watch after this. I love the fact that your speaking to her in Korean. As usual, I loved watching you eat! Munching Mondays are always a joy. I usually eat something with you but not this time. It’s 8 in the morning and I just woke up an hour ago. Anyway have a good week. Can’t wait to see what you put out this week. I am still not vegan after all these years of watching you, but I don’t eat a lot of meat, and I love your recipes. It’s been a good day, and it will be a great week. Bye.

Years ago I had my fur baby Mocha and decided to adopt my Princess (both are gone now😭). I introduced them at the shelter. Then before coming inside my apt they walked outside. Well, my Mochs was NOT having it. He basically wanted to rip Princesses head off 😭. It was HIS home and HIS Mom. It took MONTHS to get them to be okay with each other. I basically started training them using high value treats just when they were in each others presence… But separated by a gate in the home. And any time they interacted well I would give them treats. And praise. And then eventually I ended up moving to a different house and it was neutral territory so they started to do much better together. Although they did have a couple of fights. It isn’t easy but they’ll get there. I think if they are ever alone however, they should definitely be separated. You will probably do that in your mom’s house I am sure. Wishing you all the best! She’s beautiful ❤

Bori is so cute! They will both get used to each other very soon. We’ve got 2 girl dogs and they had a few scraps at first now they are a little cuddle pile. Also agree with what someone else said about Bori being a street dog with the sleeping, probably getting as much sleep as possible cos they don’t know when they will find a comfy safe place next. Also if you’re at home a lot I find my dogs just sleep near me all day cos they are just happy and content I’m home. Both of mine are rescue and their appetite developed a little later when they felt completely safe and comfy which just takes time. I worry all the time about mine too 😂🥺

Aww that’s awesome you’re giving Bori a home, I would give her maybe a month to get adjusted. From what I think I understand she was a street dog, when I got my stray cat he slept a lot as well, remember she probably isn’t used to jabbing access to food in abundance and regularly eating plus a safe place to sleep poor girls probably so tired. I would say if you think no she’s sleeping in excess after two months maybe get her checked out

Dogs sleep alot when they feel safe...like anywhere from 16-20 hours a day. My suggestion would be to stop putting your feelings of guilt on Nari, dogs don't feel guilt they are pack animals. Nari and Bori need to figure out their standing with eachother, and they will. Just treat them both the same and be calm. If you are calm and treat things as you normally would they will figure it out. Also, if you keep up the regular yearly checkups with vet (heartworm/flea and tick/rabies) don't worry too much about your dog feeling off, every animal does sometimes. Only worry if your dog stops drinking. Like all animals they will eat when hungry, they cannot live without water.

Almost always dogs work it out without human intervention. A little bark or snap here and there doesn't mean they won't get along.
@VeganLiving2472 жыл бұрын
True sometimes snapping or barking is one of them establishing dominance. Hope it works out for them!!
