I am almost 64 years old...retiring next year - Although I really want to retire now, like today, lol! Yes, values change very much as you get older. Work does not mean to me what it once did. What does matter is being with people I love and living a quiet non-chaotic life of peace. I want to give back to communities and make a difference in people's and animal's lives. Life is way-too-short to NOT do what makes you happy. I spent way to many years doing corporate work that made money for companies but did nothing for my soul...Now it's time to do what feeds my soul and inspires me.

I'm the opposite. My work feeds my soul. I'm a physical therapist at a deaf school and I pretty much get paid to play. I'm about 20ish years away from retirement and today, I actually was thinking about what I would do when I'm retired. I have hobbies and 2 kids, but my career has been very rewarding and I fear I will feel an emptiness once I don't have it anymore. My goal once I'm retired though is to live in the country with a few farm animals and grow my own veggies and fruit. I'm currently in deer country so the veggies will have to wait.

I absolutely love how you love to eat!!! If I ever get to Calgary, I'm going to your cafe straight away. And contrary to popular opinion, fizzy water is not bad for your digestion...unless you have Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disorder, acid reflux, etc. If the water has artificial flavors or sweeteners, that is a different story. I did post-graduate work in nutrition at the University of Minnesota after my MA in Health Psychology. And, Brava for your great work/life balance! Working a lot is highly overrated, in my opinion.

RIGHT! I was about to say this. But, aspartame is an ingredient that is overall not good for anyone to just constantly consume. But yes! 💯

I've gone to your cafe twice and got your japchae both times 🤣 I agree, freaking delicious. I also got the tofu katsu curry the second time. Also something I'd get again. So much flavour! 🤤

I’d love to see more dishes from your cafe! I’ve heard you say you owned a cafe, but never heard any details, so I think it’s great. I always thought I was a big eater, but I can’t come close to you. I’m 67 and have been a fine art painter for the last 27 years, and was always very ambitious! I always felt like I had to make up for starting my art career so late. But now I don’t have the energy to keep up with art shows and multiple galleries. But It’s hard to slow down mentally. But I need more time for vegan cooking. Love your videos

Carbonated beverages can be aggravating to GERD or other digestive issues, but if you aren't having any problems they're fine. Sometimes they actually help with nausea.

I'm 26, been working at my forever career ( nurse) since i was 21. After the pandemic and everything I realised I do my best at work when I'm at the hospital, but when I go home, I'm out. I work to pay my life, I don't live to work, and that's it. We' ve been raised to do more, always trying to be more successful, and I realised my success is taking a walk, going to the countryside, hiking etc. I don't need to stress just bc other people expectations are living at big cities or earning a million a month, I just enjoy a simpler life, and that's okay too.

I have been to Calgary quite a few times in my life, next time I go I will make a point to head down there. I agree that a lot of people start businesses and want it to grow exponentially, but I have found that I really just need it to cover my lifestyle and maybe a bit for a rainy day.

For anyone that never had the chance to visit Rose's cafe my thoughts were that it was cute and the prices were completely reasonable, but the food was a little lacking in flavour (I tried the japchae and one other dish). One of my co-workers that I managed to drag along had a similar synopsis. If I permanently worked downtown and was within walking distance I would most likely frequent for a healthier lunch option.

I also message them a week ahead to see if they could make me kimchi haha. Pricy as it is like $20 for 1L jar but it’s tasty and lasts me awhile. Plus if you give them a clean jar the same size you get $2 off I think.

Your changing ambitions and priorities are very similar to my own. I was way more ambitious in my twenties and early thirties. I'm in my late 40s now, and don't really have any ambition left 😂. On the other hand, I am the happiest and most content I have ever been, so I'll take it.

I’m 26 and I’ve never been able to get onboard with working my life away. I’ll do what I need to in order to take care of myself and have what I need, but I want to live life while I can! My cousin said to me once “I don’t dream of work” and that describes it perfectly.

i forgot to mention in my other comment, i don't know if you use any other sparkling waters, ...i've tried a few La Criox, yet strangely i am having problems with my taste buds right now, but i just tried the "Coconut" and it's my favorite La Crois so far, as far as i can tell...The "Black Razzberry" is also good...With the "Beach Plum" i do detect a plum flavor...decent...i think it will grow on me....i still haven't tried try the "Cherry Blossom", but want to.....With "Waterloo" sparkling waters, the "Pineapple" is good and the "Summer Berry" is decent.....i like the Bubly "Strawberry," but i don't think i'm tasting them as well as i could right now though...🍓🍋🌴🍊🍒

I think I read her comment that the parking lot is meant for the gym so you might get towed? I didn’t know that and have always parked there w/o an issue. I think you have to go in through the back alley to get into the parking lot fr what I recall. We have also stayed at a hotel that’s a 15 min -20 min walk and just walked there :)

I'm 41 and I am definitely a recovering workaholic lol. I have 2 kids and a spouse and honestly when I think about it if I could just chill with them and not work that's an obvious choice lol, and closest pals and family. You don't need a spouse and kids either, it's just important to put yourself first 🤷🏻‍♂️ yourself, family and friends. Work and hobbies are important but shouldn't impact your well being.

Whoever told you that about Sparkling water is wrong........... Sparkling water is also beneficial because it can improve digestion. It does so by improving your ability to swallow. For instance, one study found that carbonated water stimulated the nerves required for eating more so than any other beverage.

on the topic of getting to a certain age and values changing, i turned 25 back in September and on Tuesday last week i ended my almost 8.5 year relationship bc i realised that i wasn't valuing what i actually wanted and instead was holding onto the relationship bc it's all i'd ever known my whole adult life. since ending it I've realised just how bloody toxic he was and I'm so glad that i ended it. i feel like this is related to the fact that your brain isn't fully matured until 25, so i hit fully matured brain and it was like "shit, this is actually not a good situation" 😅
