Young Lady and Bob, watch you tube to explain the FastGun tie downs. You can connect or disconnect all 4 corners in about 2 minutes. Being able to remove the camper and use the truck to run errands or explore areas without picking up camp is really nice. My wife and I remove and reinstall ours regularly when we travel and it’s one of the reasons that we bought a truck camper. Black water tanks are simple to empty and maintain. They are easier to rinse out with 2 people but one can do it with out much trouble. It’s worth it to be able to use the toilet whenever you want to (in my opinion). Bob, you make great videos. Your attitude is totally off-putting for women who are watching these videos to try and overcome their #1 fear when contemplating a life of travelling alone. See the first word on the title of this video? It's "Fearless". And the reason it's "Fearless" is because it is trying to give assurance to women like me and my friends who are also deciding whether a life like this is for us. Men like you and your uncontrolled urges are exactly what we fear we are going to encounter. Please have consideration for women that this video is aimed at ... women like us trying to decide what kind of men are out there if we take the plunge. I can’t help but wonder how Ms Jo is doing today … Aside from the wonderful story about the Dodge and how it kinda came to be, I sensed another story concealed behind the soulful eyes and soft spoken voice that is Jo. Maybe a sadness … the kind that comes with loss. Most of us have known it from time to time and taking to the road to clear things out is a wonderful idea. Perhaps I should do the same. Take Care Ms. Jo. peace

@@jotrucker3892 Hello Jo. What a pleasant surprise to see you found my comment. I hope I was not too presumptuous in my assessment of your soul. It was quite by accident I happened upon this interview and for all practical purposes I would have passed it right by … oddly enough, by my standards anyway, I realized I had clicked the suggestion and having done so, found new faith in the KZbin suggestion algorithm … actually, I’m pretty sure you must be a movie star. That’s it. Glad you are doing well Jo. Further On …. :)

My first view of a CheapRVliving video though I have seen the videos of many others. And what a pleasant discovery. The questions were so politely asked and responded to that I felt that I'd gone back in time. So it's a hearty 'well done" I express to you both. This due diligence stuff prior to a possible RV purchase becomes more and more enjoyable.

I understand what she means about feeding safe in her bed. I love being in small spaces. I feel safe. We live in a converted shuttle bus and I love it. It makes her camper look so cozy and it's a beautiful shade of purple.

I disagree, buying a house, nice car, furnishing the house, paying it all off. Has given me great happiness. I worked in the middle east for 6 years to come up with the money, but I would never go back to living in a tiny space out of a suitcase. House preferred.

Terri Brooks Thank you, I'm glad you spoke up about that condescending crack at BigD Travels. I know that it was important for me to have the experience and feeling of accomplishment that purchasing and living in my own house on my own land (purchased in mid-life) for 23+ years has given me. The fact that I'm over it now, does not mean that the hard work and time I spent to do that was somehow "sad" (quoting "Bliss"). During that time, I've been able to do many worthwhile things for others, as well as myself, because I have this property. Now, I'm ready for the next "book in the series." I'm able to look forward to that because my hunger for a house and land was satisfied. I'm an American - I have choices and opinions, AND I have the responsibility to respect those rights for others as well.

Wonderful heavy duty 4WD truck to go anywhere. Really nice space. Remembering my Grandmother traveling with her brother & sis in law when they all 3 were in their 70s in a rig like this ! Grandmother had recovered from a serious stroke & wore a brace in her right leg. Had limited use of her right arm & hand. They traveled from Missouri to the BIG BEND Country in South Florida in Winter to camo there. These Country folks loved it !

My last camper was almost an exact clone of Jo's Lance, I really liked it alot and Jo's add-ons are great ideas, thinking about making one of those ladder ad-ons for mine and adding a side tubes for storage. I upgraded to one with 2 of the big propane bottles, dual batteries with solar, and a larger freshwater tank, now good for many weeks off the grid and several rainy days without solar. Mine, a 96 4WD diesel and has been very reliable. The outside shower and flip-flops are one of my favorite truck camper activities. Good luck to you Jo wherever your life adventures take you, you reminded me of a very dear lost friend, Thank You.

Take it from someone that knows about 4 wheel drive. Never use it until you need it. If you get stuck in 2-wheel drive, just put it in 4-wheel drive and get unstuck. If you are in 4-wheel drive and get stuck, you are in real trouble.
