In today's video, I take a tour of my friends Ann and Guy's very nice Ford van that they have turned into their own amazing tiny house on wheels. Why do such young people want to chuck it all and live in a van? Even more puzzling, how can they afford it and isn't it really hard for a couple to live in a van? In this interview, we'll find answers to those questions and more by taking a Tour of their van!

The Home Plate Special Folks you need to look up Common law and legislation law. Many of these legislation laws they are imposing on people are not lawful. They go against our common law rights. They are being used to kerb our rights and freedom and penalty taxes. They are only enforceable by consent. If they ask you. Answer with a question. Am I obliged to answer that question?

These are very one sided presentations of van living. For every person who enjoys this life style I'm sure there are many others who give it up after a short time due to the many complications that can pop up and the severely restricted living quarters. While it's interesting to watch these people enjoying their lives in the van, it would be very informative to hear about those who did not. People need to know that there can be many complications such as a flat tire, engine problems, sudden illness or injury, car crash, dead battery, etc. What do you do when you're out in the middle of nowhere by yourself and one of these things happen and no cell phone reception? People don't think about the realities of van living, only the pleasure aspect of traveling. A common denominator among the permanent van dwellers is that most are doing it out of necessity due to financial reasons. Even though they say how happy they are living in the van, I think it's because they adjust to the new life style and make the best of it, not because this was their life's aspiration to live in a van. I hope you will make videos of how people dealt with the unexpected problems that arose while living in a van, such as those mentioned, so that others can learn from them, not just the romanticized version of van life.

Your bed extension is pretty clever. In my vintage trailer, I kinda did something similar. I need to be wider, and so a small center connection gets the job done. With Rv's etc. etc., it's like Grandpa always said, "You can't program innovation; it's just inside of you".

GOD'S COUNTRY I appreciate your educational blogs. I’m Santi, age 63 and a disabled veteran. Four months ago, I bought a 2000 Roadtrek from Cowboys RV Mart, Lake Havasu, AZ for $20k. I trusted Sherman, the owner, and the BBB A+ endorsement. I purchased the ‘Trek sight-on-seen as I lived in NV and just had surgery. What was delivered to me was a Dodge Van with a bad engine, bad ecm, non working low beams, bad auxiliary batteries, the battery box metal etched through by battery acid was so extensive the possibility of a battery dropping to the street made immediate repair a necessity. The passenger side axle had worn so thin the new bearing could not be seated. That axle is no longer manufactured. Beware of Cowboys RV Mart, Lake Havasu, AZ.

I am alarmed by Bob's statement claiming people are being fined for not having an address. Has this always been true? I ask but then realize that it probably has to do with vagrancy laws? Even so, it seems weird, not on Bob's statement, but on the Gov't side...

Due to the Patriot act, you must list 1 State as your domicile. You must be accountable for mail or any other notification by the Government (jury duty, terrorist investigation, ETC...) It is legal to use a mail forwarder business like, but not limited to, Americas Mailbox in Box Elder, SD, Escapees or many other mail forwarder businesses. The Government wants a way to contact you, so, yes, you must have a central, legal site, but you do not have to live there, just accept contacts, mail, subpoena notification, not served, but they want to serve you, notification. You are required, by the Patriot Act, to accept and answer your mail...I know, thank you, big Brother.

Numa Newbern rent a cheap apt for a month or two if you have to renew your license to provide a utility bill and “place of residence” or whatever crap the govt want. When those months are up, re-direct mail to a PO Box or mail forwarding and go about your merry way until the next ten years. Or use a friends address and put the utility in your name for a month. There’s a bunch of ways to get around this Patriot Act BS

More about the USFS fining people for no address please... sounds like a rumor to me. It seems to me that your driver's license address ought to suffice and it would be smart if your vehicle registration address matched. But I've never heard of anyone being fined for not having an address.

It was great interview and tour! Bob captioned at 13:46 that Ann and Gary's social media links would be in the video description but it's not there; I've searched for their youtube without any luck. Has anyone else found them? It sounds like this was made at the January 2018 RTR and now it's November 2018, I'm curious to see how Ann and Gary are doing after being on road all this time and if they are going to RTR again in 2019. There are so many fantastic ideas and useful information in this video; buying a used U-Haul van sounds like a smart idea if a person is going to purchase a van. I've had many different vehicles over the years, my favorite everyday driver was my Ford E150.

the review I watched for the goal zero said it can only handle 120W Of solar/ was the review incorrect?/ what are the advantages rather than just the "other" way we normally see on your channel/ I see now his is a way bigger model than you linked. so this takes the place of your SOLAR CONTROLLER and inverter ?
@addressunknown9061
@addressunknown9061 5 жыл бұрын
I think perhaps the 120w max is for the Yeti 400? We have the larger Yeti 1250 and it handles our 2-100w panels easily. The advantage for is is it is a all in one unit. It contains the solar charge controller, pure Sine inverter, battery. It has AC/DC and USB outputs. The only thing the owner has to do is plug in the solar panels.

samuraikitty7 we did and do worry but honestly we haven't had any issues yet. The gas cans are locked in by their holders and there is a cable lock around the black tool box. The only time we worry is when we are in the cities and exploring them. We have stayed in streets and Walmart with sketchy people around us. Out in the desert. Or boondocking in general we have never had a concern.

Just showed this to the hubby and the bed adaptation made it so no one has to crawl over the other to get out of bed... plus a firm bench set! wtg!

Does anyone know exactly what the insulation he put in the van was called? Wool and stone?
