Complete Space Shuttle Atlantis Experience Kennedy Space Center

To see this in person is something that cannot be described. I went in with my father thinking it to be an exhibit with a virtual reality type experience. Atlantis... welcome home... A 42 year old man with his 75 year old father were reduced to tears. As a child I wanted to be an Astronaut because of the Space Shuttle program. The wonder of this experience brought me back to those days for me and my father. Very emotional, seeing this brings it all back. To see it in person will have you reaching for a tissue or six...

I was clapping and crying and smiling…it was so emotionally overwhelming in the best way. You are right, seeing it in person just as indescribable. Especially if you don’t know that it’s coming. I had always wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid as well and I was devastated that they ended the shuttle launches before I had been able to actually see one in person.

I cried like a baby. Had to hide my tears from everyone! LOL That reveal was unbelievable. Of course, I would cry every time I'd see the shuttle lift off or now SpaceX. I guess that's just the Floridian in me.

I felt the very same. As a child I watched Apollo launches with my Dad on the TV. To see it with my own eyes at the KSC.... overwhelming, thrilling! I was there so much often now and ut is always the same, the big WOW! Greetings from Gwrmany!

I just went to the experience, when it said ...welcome home... and the curtains lifted, i was in tears. It was the most impactful moment of my life so far. My childhood made up of shuttle flights and documentaries, I finally get to see it for the first time in real life. Thank you KSC!!!

Came all the way from Glasgow Scotland to see this rare bird, nothing prepared me for the sneaky way she was presented when curtain lifted... Wiped away tears at that point but that was nothing compared to the emotions the Challenger Columbia Tribute brought... Forget Disney and Universal, if you want to see what really put Florida on the map, look no further, an amazing tribute to amazing people.. Thank you for the amazing memories...

I was a little embarrassed when the projection ended and I enter the Atlantis pavilion all in tears and the lady who work there saw me. "It's just a trash in my eye", I said to her trying to make a joke. "Don't worry honey, it happens all the time" she said to me with a comforting smile. I loved the whole experience.

It was an amazing experience. The space center was an excursion on our cruise and it was 10Xs better than the cruise itself. I had tears too. 40 years old the last time that happened was when my father passed 3 years ago. so it doesnt happen much but this Shuttle made light work of me.

Nearly had tears in my eyes remembering that moment when finally the projection screen was raised and Atlantis was uncovered just in front of me... great movie, but yes: everyone should experience that in person! It definitely was one of the highlights of my last year vacation in the U.S.

You are looking at it - a spacecraft to nowhere - sucking up all the NASA budget. Paul Park and when NASA didn't have the money to continue sending the shuttles up, who did they turn to? The very entity that was with the program for its entire 30 yr span, the USAF and what thanks did they show the Air Force? A crew compartment trainer. A shuttle should've been sent to the National Museum of the US Air Force. It was their money they took out of their budget to keep the program afloat, so they more than paid for each shuttle.

I watched that in 2016 just after AIAA conference participation. I never expected that real Atlantis come up behind the screen and my eyes were filled with full humidity. Now 2024, I want to re-watch this one as an Aerospace Engineer

The presentation, the music, then when the curtain lifts 👌 It's moments like these that reassures me the kid in me is still alive. I visited this exhibit. I loved it when the Shuttle itself appeared at the end of the film. The crowd I was with went nuts too! 😁 I work in the Space Program, and this moment was for me like a Trekkie meeting the REAL Starship Enterprise. I literally shook with awe and excitement. I took the assembly building tour at KSC some years ago. As we came round the back of the assembly building I was gobsmacked to see Atlantis tail and the guide told us the shuttle was in the assembly building and we would see it close up (the experience centre was not yet completed). Fascinated by it and couldn't believe how small it was in real life.
