I’m 9 days in to my 100 day challenge. Here’s how it’s going so far…

My name is Heather and I'm from Portland, Oregon. I am eating a plant-based, whole foods, unprocessed diet, with no sugar, oil, flour or alcohol, to take off weight and regain my life. I once weighed over 436 lbs and have released over 110 lbs eating this way and walking for exercise. I call my channel The Butterfly Effect because I believe that all the small choices you make, over time, add up and have a huge effect on your life. I wanted to show people like me who have 100, 150, 200 or more pounds to take off that it can be done and we can do it together. I am far from perfect and have struggled with compulsive eating and been overweight for all of my life, but there is hope for me and there is hope for you too. Hi Heather, I just watched you on Chef A.J... I just love you .I've been a fan of yours for a long time. I am having a real hard time getting back on track. It is oil and junk etc.. I start out every day with oatmeal and fruit.. then .... rest of the day is ok... then look out evening.. I am so glad that you are back💞

Have followed you for years Heather, have loved your honest journey, and feel I can relate to you. Cheering you on xxxx It's good to find others who are vegan/plant-based but still have time periods where they overeat on vegan food (I love vegan junk food and have had to get back to basics to wholefoods). At my highest I was almost 350 lbs and a few years back got down to 219 lbs but recently got back up to 292 lbs. My own personal goal is to break the 200 lbs mark and stay below 200 lbs for the rest of my life. Figure that will be much healthier at my age. I love your channel! It really helps me…my highest weight was 176 and lowest 136, I’m trying to find something in the middle that I can maintain, currently aiming for 166! I’m on my way, down to 168.9 today and want to commit to NEVER hitting 170 again!!! 🙌 I support you on your Path and want to see you succeed ❤

Heather for Halloween don’t be there. Go somewhere for Halloween away from candy and giving it out. Then you won’t have any leftovers, then you won’t have any to eat.

I’m a little late to the party…but I’m joining the 100 day challenge too! I finally had cortisone shots in my knees yesterday and already feel so much better. I have to rest for a few days, per doctor’s orders. But after that I’m getting back on track. Thank you for your inspiration. 💗💗💗

It's so wonderful having you back on YT! You always make me smile. I've had a big setback myself. I haven't even gotten on the scale to see the damages. 🤦‍♀️ Tonight, I made myself a giant power greens salad for the week and I'm ready to roll. I saw your video yesterday and thought about just starting now- 10/1 and its 137 days until Valentine's Day....I thought what a great way to show myself love! So I am taking the challenge and I look forward to going through the holidays and feeling more confident with this experience. I did this several years ago and I am a bit rusty with remembering the go-to things that make it easier for me. I am very thankful to have my husband and five children doing it along with me. Its a family change and that feels great!!! Thanks for your update and time. Its good seeing you back!

Hi Heather, so happy for you. Ya know being in this truck with Mike had also helped me gain weight and miss my 10,000 plus steps a day. He will retire in April so I can get back on track. You are still so Inspiring.

Love you, Heather! I’m on this 100 day journey with you as well. I so admire your strength and commitment in the face of the “prison” so many of us have created for ourselves, as well as your thoughts on enjoying the “ non-food” aspects of the holidays❣️. Keep on keeping on! I heard something the other day- “ The longer I am compliant, the stronger I am compliant”. It’s become my mantra. Thanks for sharing yourself on this video❣️

Congratulations Heather on your sticking to your food plan. I committed to doing the 100 day challenge along with you and others here.This week was the State Fair..ugh I had a homemade glazed donut there. I wont beat myself up with the guilt stick. I will instead continue to stick to my commitment , knowing there will be moments where I might fall. Just dusting myself off and continue my journey

Yes exercise is important, but it's hard when we're overweight, even walking can be a challenge with pains in knees and hips. But as McDougall says 'its the food', and definitely being compliant with the food is number one when it comes to losing weight. Really pleased you have posted again, as have had a few struggles this past few weeks. You are so encouraging. Thank you. Aside for one week where I had a blip and gained 2 pounds, the weight is still coming off, but slower. I've been so very hungry. I blame the days getting shorter, but it's probably not that simple. Hey ho.

So very very proud of you. Thanks for your time and honesty. Maybe we can help you pick a name. Im on my 9th day too. I did have fried sweet potatoes one day but rest of the days food. Dropped caffeine and diet sodas too. I was really addicted. We can do this!!! Hugs my sister in Christ.

You have the most beautiful smile and your eyes sparkle! I would not worry about walking a certain amount of steps, just walk! Concentrate on your food plan! You can do it!!

hey Heather, always great seeing & hearing from you. Like what u said, we "built our own prison's with our fork, spoon & knife, &, WE are the ONLY ones, who can let us out of it" Hope it's ok for me to use that some day, in one of my own videos? I am still very small, only 619 subs, so far. It's ALL about health & wellness & losing & maintaining & movement. tfs luv ya Chef AJ is my hero, i was nearly bed/home bound when i found her on yt, & now, 4y6m1wk , am living the life, healthy & smaller, & everything is, so much easier when smaller, in my opinion. xoxo🙏🙏🥰🥰

I can't get the junk out of my house since it belongs to someone else. I did just get the idea of getting skull and crossbones Halloween stickers to put on the junk. That will replace the pretty packaging image in my mild. Instead of thinking " yum", I'll be thinking "yuck."

I give flashlights for Halloween. I also keep glow bracelets on hand in case I run out of flashlights. No candy here. Happy to be doing these 100 days with you
