I was most impressed with the work they were showing for Miquote and the lighting work they were showing. In general, I was really liking how hair was rendering on the new models too. Oh. And of course, the uh, the grapes.

The Hyur, for me. My main is hyur, sure, but more than that I thought the improvements really shined on the hyur male's face. I just hope to Twelve they FIX ELEZEN. Like, pin head with the long neck thing, so sad. I'd love elezen were it not for their proportion issues.

i feel like im the only one who doesnt think the "improvements" look better (minus the miqote, general improvement there). Ardberts facial strucutre and the roe's facial structure look slightly different, and the lala just looks weird, particularly around the eyes. Certain features seem lost, like the ends of Ardberts eyebrows and the weird shape around the sides of his nose; and the Roe's luscious check Uncanny valley. And it kind of kills the stylization they had before, which I prefer. But i am an artist with a degree in art so my tastes might be....particular, and very picky haha I prefer stylized over photorealistic. The lighting and the hair looks great, definite improvements, im mostly talking about the texture of the skin and how those things affect the way their faces look. its also Square Enix and if there's one thing they're good at, its making people look unbelievably hot so XD They also said they weren't going for photorealism, so that alleviated some worry from me. Im excited to see the improvements after they work on it some more (they said it those shots were only after a month of work)

So long as it keeps running on the PS4 I’m good. But graphics are admittedly pretty far down my list of priorities when it comes to video games really. Characters, setting, story and a bit of player agency are my priority with gameplay and controls not far behind. Graphics? Dude, I’m still playing things like Pokemon Black and Black 2 as well as Sword/Shield and Brilliant Diamond.
