Love the blue porch tongue and groove ceiling. Fun Fact: The reason porch ceilings used to be painted blue back in the day, was to trick wasps and mud dobbers into thinking it was the sky. That way they would not build nests up on the ceiling.👍 Have a great day! -Paul

The wasp repellent quality of blue paint may or may not be a myth, but in some parts of the south, porch ceilings were also painted blue, specifically haint blue, in order to ward off ghosts and evil spirits. Northerners have been painting their porch ceilings blue for centuries too

Incredible house!! Not crazy about the big commissioned art piece, nor the gallery wall, but the furniture, flooring, backsplashes, Morroccon tiles, wallpapers, fabrics, and color choices were stellar!!

The outside of this house is beautiful but the interior was disappointing to me. It in no way to me looked or hinted toward low country...with the one exception being the haint blue ceiling. The colors were boring and strange for the house. Anywhere else it would have been lovely. But to me they missed the mark here.

Am I the only that thinks a southern design should be fairly comfortable, simple, elegant, and/or conventional? These bold colors and modern choices just don’t seem comfortable or southern... unless we’re talking one of the urban southerns like Atlanta or Bham which actually aren’t very southern anymore?

LOVE the interior design. So nice to move away from textbook stylings that are so often repeated in these types of homes. Fresh, original and definitely for the sophisticated and young at heart. Please, Coastal Living, can you provide the name of the manufacturer and fabric used for the DINING ROOM DRAPES! Much obliged.

The art in this home is terribly unsuitable. It doesn't match the esthetic of the marsh and feels entirely too "uptown/uptight". SL picked the wrong designer for the job. It's great to push the envelope so to speak and do things a little unusual and original, but the design company used their favorites instead of figuring out what the home called for.

A mish-mash of "styles" that are not cohesive....none of then in keeping with the style of the house. One thing that is very obvious...the kitchen "designer" does not cook. A wood shelf right over the gas range??? STUPID! The only thing attractive about this house is the exterior, and maybe the porch.
