John, your comments about tools and what to do with them when you die made me chuckle. My dad was an engineer by trade, had tools for everything and used them all the while to build and fabricate stuff, even up to a month before he passed away 3 years ago. I've kept his Snap On tools and took chests, but still have no use for most of the rest, as I've no idea what to use then for! And as for screws, nuts,washers, bolts, connectors etc..... Christ, there are tubs and tubs. They're no good to me, but to him, they were like gold! Keep up the great work, loving your builds 👍🏻

Jess. If you haven’t used one before, get a silicone mat to sit on the induction hob. It’ll protect the surface and you can cook though it.

I can finally add a useful tip for you! If you dent solid wood, take a wet cloth and place it over the dent and place a hot iron on it. About 10-20 seconds. It's not flawless but it makes a huge difference towards keeping your work surface flat and smooth. Love the series!

My brother came over from Australia this Summer and we built a new 5 m x 3 m Terrace with a wooden pergola the same size. An old cabinet makers / luthiery technique for pulling dents out of wood. Sand the finish off the affected area, apply a little bit of water, and then then apply a steam iron steadily across the damage, it shrinks the fibres pulling them back level again in much the same way you shrink tissue paper over a model .

I'm with you John always important to take stock, I've just gone all through my scews and bolts and put them in new storage containers and marked each space with what type they are an how many in each space. When I told the wife that when I retired I wanted to sort out my workshop, not exactly what I had in mind 🥸 It does however keep me out of the way, especially when her mad sister turns up, 🤣😂👍

As per usual, the video was full of useful top tips about making things. I agree, the 3D printer is really useful and I absolutely understand Jon's joy at creating something he himself designed. I'd love Jon to do a track saw review episode! I know little about them, but would really like to have one. I have to admit though, I got quite nervous when I saw Jon with his pinny on in the kitchen and was ready to dive for cover if he turned around and wasn't wearing anything underneath the pinny on his lower half! Phew! I was saved that little 'treat' this episode! I'm glad Jon suggested a calendar for the workshop and not the cattle shed as putting that up iin an animal shed could potentially be considered cruelty to animals! ....come to think of it, it would be a brilliant present for a friend you didn't like! Twelve months of torture! 🤣😅

Good to see the 3D printing skills coming along - it’s so satisfying to be able to design and create your custom components. The handle for the roof - make sure you are printing with multiple walls at around 2mm to get enough strength. I’d be wary of using PLA for this, abs might be better given the repeated use and loads.

@@truebluetravellers When you print with ABS or ASA (slightly better in my opinion) be careful with ventalation as they give off fumes including VOCs. In small doses but you still need to take care. I have the same 3D printer and love it. So much fun.

You two are legends love watching both of your skills building your off reader. The best bit is anyone who wants to build there own camper can start at the beginning and go for it. The inside is looking great I like your idea of a second bed in the van for when you you have a blue😂. And I think you should have the top bunk Jess so you can throw things at him when he pisses you of😤😤.
