Honest repair people are hard to find. Two quick stories. Wife took car to get oil change. They told her battery was showing bad in their system check and needed replaced. I had just replaced the battery about 9 months ago. Her car wouldn't start the next day. I checked it and the battery cable ground was loose. Tightened it up and away she went. If they would have replaced the battery, they would have found the loose cable, never told her about it, she would have paid for a new battery we didn't need, and we would have never known it was just a loose cable. 2nd story. Contractor told us we needed a replacement $7000 heat pump. Different contractor came to give a second opinion. He found a bad wire in the breaker box, replaced it and heat pump came on. That was 10 years ago and the "bad" heat pump is still going.

Explanation made sense as to why fuel trim was wrong. What did Toyota do to fix it? The start of the video talking about fuel cap showing different fuel types. When I owned my tdi golf diesel was $.80 more than cheap gas. If a gas car (with 13 gal tank) did 40mpg and my diesel with 13 gal tank) did 50mpg at that price difference. The cost per mile for the fuel was the same. My tdi did 58mpg going to myrtle beach. In 2013 when I bought that car I don't think a gas powered car existed that got 48+mpg. So my tdi on more expensive fuel per gallon cost a lot less per mile than gas

Flex Fuel, at least how we ended up doing it, was a mistake. Flex fuel vehicles are not too bad, since you can use all ratios. E85 is actually like E10 "up to" 85% ethanol, usually a big range between like 50-80% or something. E85 is only decent offer when there is like a 50 cent difference, even then you're still losing a little bang for your buck. I personally prefer ethanol free (non-ethanol 100% gasoline) fuel, but unfortunately cost way too much more usually. So if plan to drive often, use E10 or E15 (if cheap enough). Was crazy when went to florida one time, and E15 was radically cheaper than E10 which doesn't make sense.

Scotty, check the ethanol Content in that gasoline Because in the past two months, my mileage dropped over 100 miles per tank and in my wife’s car as well and we cannot explain it except for increased ethanol in the gasoline. I am going to get a kit to test the ethanol Content. Plus, there have been many news reports in the past couple of days of people having their engines blow, and they found out they had excessive amounts of ethanol in the gas. This needs to be looked into.
