TW = Tare weight, sometimes called unladen weight, is the weight of an empty vehicle or container. By subtracting tare weight from gross weight, one can determine the weight of the goods carried or contained. How much beer is left?

Is it weird that I have a tank gauge to know how much I have left? I just always figured that’s how to know how much was left. Haha Thanks for the vid though, nice to know an alternative way for sure. In case you wanna check a backup bottle or if your gauge breaks.

Jay - Not weird at all! You see those a lot with CO2 regulators, however they are not always the most accurate; especially if you store the CO2 tank in the refrigerator. Weighing is always the surefire way to know how much is in the tank. Keep on pouring, and thanks for your comment!

Hi, great video and timing as I finished my first all grain batch last night and put the CO2 tank in the fridge with the keg.The level was low this morning I thought I had a leak but maybe not. However my PSI level also dropped a lot from 11 down to 3-4. Is that also normal or maybe I do have a leak? Thanks

That's normal. I'm pretty sure it's because as the Co2 gets colder, it exerts less pressure. Thus what once read 11, now reads 3-4 because of the temp change. Just re-adjust the regulator to 11 and it should maintain that now in the kegerator. Good luck!

Hey buddy I just had my 2 5lbs tanks filled and hooked it to my regulator it was less then 500 psi (in the red) how much psi should be in a 5lbs tank.

The gauge will stay at the same PSI pretty much until it's close to being out. I think it should be somewhere around 800-1000. If it's reading in the red at 500, it's either low OR you have it stored in the refrigerator/kegerator. That gauge will always read low when the co2 tank is cold as the gas contracts at colder temps. That's why we always just weigh the tanks to get an accurate read on how much is left!

TW on my CO2 canister says 18.6 V. Why would it not say lbs?
