As an Aussie female, I hope things get better across the pond, soon. Can we just like.. not sexually harass people? That'd be super!
@sdgdhpmbp6 жыл бұрын
Apparently, it's difficult for a few reasons. Still makes it inexcusable, only that there's a reason behind it. One I know is the abuse of power. You can see it in the comments yourself. Many here say stuff they would never say in public because they know they're protected. And if you're a person in power, this abuse extends to everyone working below you that's dependent on their current job for a living.

Well, at least Sam is consistent (unlike FOX News and Conservative KZbin channels); if a man (whether she hates him, likes him, or knows him personally) who abuses women, she calls him out on it, and she will admit occasional bias but won't let that make her be a hypocrite in what she reports.

HwiNoree Dune What you said is why men say that women want more than just equality and believe that feminism is going to far. I don't believe that, I think feminism is just fine as long as it's aimed toward equality. However, saying that men are unfit for being in charge of anything is just dividing men and women. There will be no helping one another and it's just going to make everybody angry. At least acknowledge that not a lot of men are bad. It's usually the ones at the very top because they feel like they can't be stopped and it gets into their heads. I certainly respect women and treat them as equals, so it's not very accurate to say that all men are bad. I deserve to be in a position of power just as much as you do because we live in America and we have the free will to do so. Let the bad men get punished and taken out of power, but let the good men, and good women, have the power instead. Working together to solve a problem is always better than just assuming that the people from one side all are terrible people
@annabelclara6 жыл бұрын
I understand your point. My comment did not represent the entirety of a perspective, but merely an expression of frustration, which may offer no help to others. It was certainly not a charitable comment. Of course there are good men, and terrible women. Of course. We are equally human, but we are not equal in any society on earth, nor at any point in history. A powerful queen from time to time does not mean equality. A good male friend/husband/father cannot make up the disparity alone. I ask you to try and put into perspective a lifetime of experience of regularly being treated as less than equal, whether that's intellectually, professionally, in terms of power and choice, walking down the street, and so on ad nauseam. To stop and thank all the good men who haven't taken advantage of their privilege is a valid but vapid defense. Men are afraid of feminism not because of concerns of it going too far (how can equality go too far?), but out of shame. Try not to blame women for a man's fear or shame towards women; that in itself is gaslighting. If you are speaking of women who hate men, that is not feminism, but an outcome likely based on experience. Sad, but first ask where that perspective came from if you'd like to truly help and work together.

Well, I am done with this S*** too. I am tired, just so deadly tired. As an adult, I have been getting angrier & angrier. Being harassed on the metro, in the streets, because guys just feel entitled to do that. Having to carry pepper spray & always being careful at night. The guys I cross just stroll uncaring while the women have the same eyes as me, constant vigilance. Having to constantly be ultra careful of what I wear because it might convey a different image from "human being walking". God forbid I be in a good mood & feel like wearing something pretty to reflect that. It seems to be all the license needed for harassment. Do you know that I don't look passing guys near the eyes because apparently even passing, brief accidental eye contact is an invitation? Being belittled, criticized for my choices or attitude, while my colleagues are praised for the same things. Having to smile at the sexist jokes if I don't want to be labelled as intolerant. Having to deal with the daily little prejudices. I even stopped reading most books with hetero couples romance, because the depiction of women turned my stomach (I gave up on the men early, the abusive basta** can just...), I only read fantasy now because I can find smart, strong women there. I have so many constant examples... I don't know if women can do better in leadership. It's not like I have a blanket approval of women. Far from it. One thing I can say for sure. Women can't do worse than how men have dons so far. History is a merciless judge.

Rainbow Blue+ Gender is no better a guide than race or religion, as each gender has had its' fine examples, and its' villains. Each human being is a unique individual, the captain of their ship, and the one who guides their actions. If you must judge another, do it on their merits, not on their gender, race, or other thing that they did not choose. We are all tired, and stressed out; it's the times we live in, let's try to help, not hinder, each other. Anger has never solved any problems, but it has created many. - "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you".... just my .02 peace
