This is basically how I make cheese scones, but I've always used normal full fat milk. Going to subscribe to your channel now.

Hi Chris, I've just taken up baking at the ripe old age of 53 and I've tried scones a few times now and they've gone straight in the bin. You're recipe is fantastic and they way you do things is so easy to follow. I'm going to be doing the cheese and scallion scones next and i simply must try your shortbread recipe. Thanks fella and all the best

Try using less buttermilk then. Maybe the dough was too wet so they flattened out ☘️

Is that Danish cheddar? I’m going to have to learn the metric system and order metric measuring cups and spoons. Easier than learning Gaelic. Ha.

Made those last night and they were delicious! I love your Dub accent Chris, we live in France now and listening to you sounds like we’re back in our street back home. Can’t wait to try your other recipes. Sticking them in the fridge before baking them certainly helped the scones rise better. 👌🇮🇪🇫🇷

What makes these scones Irish as opposed to normal cheddar cheese scones?
@irishbakerabroad4 ай бұрын
The use of Irish cheddar cheese would make it an Irish cheddar cheese scone. No? 😄
@Tsunami79644 ай бұрын
@@irishbakerabroad 😂 I see what you’re saying. Don’t know how to explain it but yes there’s a difference. I was thinking more culturally rather than literally the ingredients. It’s just sounded strange to me as a non native speaker. I need to think of it as ‘Cheese Scone, containing Irish cheddar’ Just as adding Parmesan wouldn’t make it an Italian scone, but a scone containing Italian cheese. Or an Irish Danish Pastry because you used Irish butter??? French soda bread because you used French flour. Was just confusing to me, didn’t mean any offence. Last example. If you made a vid called Irish Beef Ramen. Culturally it sounds like a traditional Irish dish. Whereas it’s literally an Asian dish using Irish beef. Foreign languages be hard sometimes 😂
