It's actually not. You get a lot more for that than just looking in 1 cave, you get 2 caves, Jacobs Ladder, gift shop all for the entry price. So no, it's not a rip off and considering that it has to pay wages, rents ect. Not everything g is a rip off

Ludicrous you have to pay to walk around a natural rock formation.
@choppercam012 ай бұрын
@welshrecon It needs to be maintained, and that shit isn't free or cheap. You'd be complaining if you were hit with a rock. Yes, it's a natural rock formation, but it's also an attraction which needs staffing. The Gorge itself is free, but the caves you have to pay to view.

There is no flight distance restrictions to buildings in residential areas when flying sub 250g drones providing you don't break peoples right to privacy by filming into their homes without permission (unlike public areas people do have a legal expectation of privacy in their home). So keep the drone above the roof tops and you're good to go. I have no idea where that bloke got 500m from... They just make rubbish up to deter people.

It amazes me how these fools can tell you what you to do on public land. How can they say you can’t fly a drone in public land. How can a gorge be private property? £24 is an outrage. There are paths on both sides of the gorge anyway. I really do think get why it’s an issue. I rode my mountain bike from the top of one side, I’d like them to try and tell me I couldn’t do that.

DJE A question about max altitude reached at 13:35. If you took off, up on the cliffside, and went straight up to 120 metres. Then went over the edge, are you then flying higher than 120, and would the drone know the difference and not dive straight down etc. Where the person standing up there at 20:10 is for example.
@garyfreeman8962 ай бұрын
I believe DJI drones work out their location from the home point. From the location DJE took off he is lower than where the drone gave the notification. This is why his 120m notification is triggered while the drone is actually a lot lower. If you flew it off a cliff edge it will think it is still on the cliff height and not over a drop. GPS will give location on land. If you look at GPS data it gives 2 reference numbers giving you a point on land. For height you need a barometer. Hope this helps.
@robbrigham59262 ай бұрын
The law is within 120m 'from the closest point of the earth’s surface'. So you can be above a 200m drop if you are horizintally within 100m of a cliff. You can also fly up to 15m vertically or 50m horizontally of a tall structure even if this exceeds 120 from the ground. However, all of this is too complicated for DJI's software to work out so this just works out 120m vertical from the takeoff point - in the UK, you can override the maximum imposed by the software if you know you will be legal, and DJE could have done that here. You cant override the software in Europe though.

The inside and out could do with a bit of updating. Got the whole 1990's vibe from it. Not forgetting the mess on the table. The National Trust sure have a strict view on drones and how they can't be used. But the only rule I tend to agree with is the not endangering wildlife. That's pretty straight forward. The wildlife takes precedent over my drone, always.
