Geez I love this recipe, I’ve made it like 6 times and I still love it and am so grateful you posted it. It really takes the wind from the sails of anxiety in making good old fashioned pudding from scratch like my nana used to :) PS it also has that same nana’s tick of approval - thank you cheekyricho!

+Jazzy Dolly what delightful feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed our recipe. It’s a real favourite here too. We love all the old fashioned recipes just as much as the new age ones. There’s no reason for tried and tested recipes to be forgotten and well do our darnedest to make sure they’re not. Say Hi to Nan for us, sadly our Nan’s are no longer with us but the recipes they taught me are still being used in our family today. Thank you so much for watching and your lovely comments are truly appreciated. Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.;-))

This looks so delicious and warming Cheeky and also easily converted to a vegan version by substituting soy milk for the milk and Nuttalex for the butter. Easy done!

Hi Patrice, at the time if upload I always include the ingredients list in the description box below the recipes sometime for reasons unknown to me KZbin removes them either permanently or temporarily. I never which recipes are affected or for how long. With around 1,700 recipes posted on my 2 channels it is impossible for me to keep up with KZbin’s ever changing policies. As a direct result of this problem, at the suggestion of a viewer, I began printing the recipes within the video itself. These ingredients lists can be screenshot and saved for later, should KZbin decide to interfere with my original uploads in the future. My sincere apologies for their absence, it is totally beyond the control of all creators who are being unfairly treated by KZbin. May I suggest you look to the description box below the recipe again and see if KZbin has reinstated the information that was included with the original upload, as it is always included at the time of Posting. Thank you for watching, alerting me to yet another mistake made by KZbin, which I would be unaware of without you taking the time to let me know. Your kind feedback is very much appreciated.;-))

+Amany Elsayed thank you for your enquiry Amany. Golden Syrup does have a pretty unique flavour but you can substitute it with equal amounts of Honey, corn syrup or even maple syrup. The flavour will be a little different but equally delicious. Thanks for watching.;-))

How did you measure out your 180g of flour? did u weigh it or use cup measures?
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 7 жыл бұрын
+Jazzy Dolly thank you for your enquiry, I weigh things with scales, except in my camping videos as I don't take scales when I travel. Cup sizes vary in different countries so we standardise our ingredients measurements by using weights rather than measures. We have also uploaded a handy conversion chart on our channel to assist people from non metric countries. You are more than welcome to download and print or share it to help you with ours and other recipes. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.:-))

I just made up a GREENS packet brand last night, Wow there products have really gone down hill, the batter was not much in it bit skimpy on there pudding mix. Time to try your pudding out.
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. I have found the same problem with greens products. There used to be an entire aisle in the supermarket dedicated to all different brands and types of cake mixes, pudding mixes, pavlova, scone, biscuit mixes etc now there would be lucky to be one bay of a a very small and sparse selection. I don’t understand it. Doesn’t anyone bake anymore? No advertising on tv or in magazines for the likes of Betty Sydney, Betty Crocker, White Wings or Greens let alone the myriad of home brand or generic counterparts. Instead now we have double aisles devoted to pet food and cleaning products. Mostly containing the same thing and advertisers are heavily promoting these products on tv. Has the world gone mad? Instead of gathering at friends houses for morning tea or just a cuppa we are obsessed with catching up for a coffee at a local cafe. Not me drop into my house anytime and if I don’t have something home made to share by the time the kettles boiled or the coffee machine is primed I’ve already got a batch of pikelets or scones, waffles or home made biscuits in the oven ready in 12-15 minutes. Now I make a double batch of biscuits, freeze them raw and pop a half dozen each of different varieties still frozen onto a tray and get them Into the oven whilst chatting. Takes no time little money and they are usually all eaten before they get cold. All without leaving the house. Any left over are sent home with my pop ins to enjoy later. Tradesman love working on my house, smoko is always provided, definitely appreciated and invariably commented that “Wow, that’s the first time, anyone’s done that for us!” Where did the tradition go to just be hospitable to visitors or guests? The family Sunday roast with all the trimmings AND desserts gone. I thank you for your kind comment. I hope you enjoy my entire playlist we have dedicated to simple budget friendly and not so economical desserts from way back when to more recent times, with your family. Keep old traditions alive, forging new ones and put ‘hospitality’ back into the home. Nobody needs to pay upward to $10 for a slice of 4 day old banana bread when you can bake 2 whole cakes at home for less than that. Make it with love and they will Love it! Bake something with a child and you will make a mess but you will also be making memories and teaching a life skill. Sitting next to a child watching tv isn’t spending time with them, they can do that in their own. Make some mistakes and eat them anyway, it’ll help you to remember not to do that again. Tell Greens what you think of their once loved products, they won’t fix it unless they get the negative feedback. They may not do anything but they definitely won’t change if they aren’t made aware of their customers dissatisfaction with their products, that’s how lines get deleted and shops stop stocking items. Let social media know what you think, everyone will agree with you, share it and these companies will start to listen. Thank you for watching, may your table be blessed with great wholesome food and your family compliment you with full bellies and gratitude for caring. Have a fabulicious week and thanks for watching.;-))

Hi, am about to try this recipe to compare with the packet ones we have to make at work. Noticed that you have written 30g of water in your list of ingredients and assume this should be the butter for the syrup? Sorry to be picky, just want to get it right as the last couple I made didn't work I think because I substituted brown sugar for the white.

THANKYOU for using just weights. It drives me crazy switching between scales and volumes. I think all cooking would be better in weights like the (especially flour). What kind of nonsense is a cup of flower? Statistically, that's like +/- 0.3 of a cup per cup error.
@CheekysKitchen
@CheekysKitchen 8 жыл бұрын
+HaydenHatTrick thank you very much for the feedback Hayden, you are absolutely correct regarding measurements. Cup sizes vary significantly world wide. Although I am not a professional chef I do know that commercial kitchens always use weights instead of volumes for measuring to ensure consistent results every time. It is even down to weighing spices and eggs etc. living in Australia we have the metric system so this is the unit of measurement we use but I have uploaded a handy conversion chart to convert my measurements to other units like imperial and cups etc. some of our viewers are more comfortable with the units of measurements they are accustomed to, especially our American friends. I have some very old cookbooks and some international recipes that use differing units of measurement and luckily I am Old enough to still remember the pre metric days and often do the conversions mentally so it's not a big problem for me. Don't include different units of measurements in my uploads to reduce confusion. If someone were to mix up the different methods of portioning ingredients the results could be disastrous. That is why we offer the conversion chart as a downloadable ready reckoner. We really appreciate your feedback, it always helps to know we are doing something right which is appreciated by our audience. This particular recipe is really delicious, simple , hearty comfort food. We are so glad you enjoyed watching it and thank you very much for taking the time to comment.;-))

Thank you very much for your feedback Tee. I try not to use cup and spoon measurements for baking as the sizes can vary so much and the result will be different. There are a lot of conversion charts available on google and I think I will try and include a link to a good one in my description box to help people without scales or not using metric measurements. Thank you for your advice and for watching. Hopefully Our future videos should be a bit easier to work with for you. ;-))
