Fatayer is the perfect, crowd-thrilling party food. They are easy-to-pick-up finger foods that are filled with meat, or cheese, or spinach. Fatayer takes different shapes based on the type of filling. The convention is to make meat fatayer into square shapes, cheese fatayer into boat shapes, and spinach fatayer into triangular ones.
Cheese Fatayer Recipe
Ingredients for Fatayer Dough:
2½ cups (350 grams) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk lukewarm
⅓ cup olive oil
Ingredients for Cheese Filling
200 grams feta cheese
½ cup fresh parsley (chopped)
¼ cup fresh dill leaves (chopped)
1 large egg
